Kiki: “We Didn’t Really Make an Attempt to Trade Vince Carter”
March 1, 2008, 5:15 pm In an interview with WFAN’s Evan Roberts, Kiki Vandeweghe said the Nets didn’t make an attempt trade Vince Carter…”honestly no”. Moreover, Rod Thorn’s defacto GM said that Carter has been “nothing short of spectacular” in the locker room, in practice since the Kidd trade. He also spoke highly of Devin Harris’ leadership Thursday. As for the Knick rumors? “I’m invested here. Bruce Ratner’s a great owner. Rod’s a legend.”

Well if they did or not...he's certainly not going to say that they tired to at this point.

Why do you have Anthony Johnson as your avatar?

Kiki also spoke about how athletically gifted Vince is, not just in terms of jumping but in terms of overall physical giftedness (hand-eye coordination, etc.) It was nice to hear someone else express it, since those who think Vince survives on jumping alone will continue to look foolish when he maintains a 20+ ppg average with ease over the next few years due not just to shooting ability but to his uncanny variety of releases, left-handed touch, ability to catch tough passes in traffic, and exceptional sense of balance and spatial intelligence/awareness at all times about where he is in relation to the basket. Kiki offered in all earnestness his belief that Carter is every bit as talented as any player in the league, including Bryant and James, and that you don't just give up such a player lightly.

I've said it before and i'll say it again, Vince was never the problem with this team. As for earlier when he had that string of like 9-15 pt games it was pretty much because of injury, and while hes not fully healthy right now, he looks alot better. While his De lacks, Offensivly his game is great with or without his hops. Dude can shoot, handle, and dish and since Kidd is gone take a look at him out there, Vince and RJ are playing hard. I've got to say however, i was worried about how he would react and im pleasently suprised, he's stepping up now since their leader for the last couple of years is gone. I know people complain about his contract but seriously, where else are you going to get a player with his stats for that cheap.
