I'm kind of, you know, hoping the Spurs are that unlucky team this year that is decimated by injuries. Given the age of their core, it seems as likely as any. Maybe it's just the immense, you know, kind of butt hurt talking.

Besides, it'd be kind of fun to see the contrast of the "hot free agent" Aldridge floundering around injuries, after LeBron got to the Finals the prior year with all the injuries the Cavs had. For all the fuss made over LMA, you'd think he was in the same caliber as The King. If Duncan and/or Parker go down, I see this team really struggling to go past the second round.
 
Poor Lillard, he had to take a backseat to this moron.

So I just watched this version again after reading up on this thread:



I stopped at the 8:50 mark. 104 counted, "Uhh's", "Umm's" and "you know's". I might be off a few one way or another. Honestly there were times when he said it in between every other word and so sublimely, I might have missed a couple. He says it sooo often that it really is very fluid in his talking and sometimes even hard to pick out. But wow. I couldn't finish the interview again.

Now. Question. Did anyone catch his reaction to the question about living up to 26 yeas of All Star PF in SA at the 4:50 mark?

Its classic! It's already a sign that LMA is not going to be able to handle the pressure of this situation. The question is asked, and then dude to the left ( GM? Owner? I know nothing about the individuals of the SA office, other than they are stellar) says, that's what they expect of LMA. LMA responds sheepishly, points to the exit door and says, well if that's the case then I am heading to the door!!!!!

Now I am not saying I expected him to say, no sweat, Ill keep it rolling smoothly or anything, but, run to the door????? LMAO!!!! The dude is his own worst enemy. He has all this physical ability and could be another anomaly in the NBA if he just played to his physical strengths instead of his mental weaknesses.

I really think this SA team is going to have a rough time and could possible be a shitball steamrolling downhill by the second half of the season as they try to figure out how they play Duncan and LMA together.

They might become the Knicks of three years ago when they brought in Amare with Carmelo and that star studded team that just failed big time. I don't think LMA will just fit right in as easily as he says he will.

Hoping anyhow.. Their time has come and if they continue as a powerhouse, Ill be forced to respect it, but it doesn't mean I have to like it....

I was a LaMarcus fan during his first few seasons. Then the Felton, Camby, Crawford, Wallace era hit with full force and the shit hit the fan with Coach Nate. I expected LA to step up as a leader and it didn't happen. Surprisingly enough at the time, Wes stepped up as a leader to eventually become the team's heart and soul. You could see his involvement with teammates, often during game timeouts, talking about plays and other situations arising during the game. It was like he was another coach on the floor. With that said, the Mavericks got one hell of a player. I know he will do well for the rest of his playing career and I can see him eventually becoming a head coach for our Blazers!

As for LaMarcus, I think he will clash with Pops at some point and it will not be pretty when it happens. LOL

He played 9 seasons as a Blazer and made the decision to play through injury and put off surgery to have a chance to win before Wes went down. He can't communicate, he spurned us and he's been a bit conniving on the way out, but overall I'm glad for his time here. And he left to be on a team that wins championships and play with one of his idols. All in all, I understand his leaving and appreciate his time as a Blazer. I won't root for LaMarcus like I will Wes, because I just think Wes is a dime of human and a true friend to Portland, but I also won't demonize LA. That's just me, I totally understand the "fuck him" attitude too.

LaMarcus never really liked it in Portland. The only way he was (possibly) going to sign here was if we were successful in last year's playoffs AND if he thought we were contenders next year.

He was 100% leaving, and I think that decision was made before our last two playoff games. He was already checked out.

It's pretty clear LAMarcus (like most people) wants to be liked. So...my guess is he put on this charade that the Blazers were on his short list so we the fans wouldn't be mad at him.

It didn't work.
 
Predictions:

LaMarsha can not handle the pressure playing for the SAS, his new nickname becomes LaKlutz.

Blazers win every home game against the SAS while LaKlutz plays for them.

To get LaKlutz to sign with the SAS, Coach Pops gave LaKlutz a verbal promise to stay through his 4 year contract. And then coach Pops retires after one season when Tim Duncan retires.
 
Actually, I'm oddly relieved he's gone. I think we are going in a better direction.

I'm glad he is gone...he never wanted to be here....we could've made it to the finals and still would have left

If LMA never wanted to be in Portland, he had over 3,000 days of opportunity to ask to be traded. He could have picked up the phone and told PA, or, walked into the GMs office, or, explained it to his agent. Instead he lied to PA & NO and betrayed the fans that cared about him.

I can understand LMA betraying the fans that hated on him, the haters deserved it. However, most of the fans and all of the Blazers front office personnel cared for him. We did not deserve to be betrayed.

Karma is going to haunt that boy for the rest of his career, and he will regret for the rest of his life betraying those that cared about him.
