Looks like Kakko might be out a while. Why do I get the sense he was trying to play through an injury, didn't tell anybody and then when Gallant benched him for a while and moved him to the 4th line, he said you know what, fuck you and then told the trainer and said you aren't worth it. Just seems very odd after he got benched he is suddenly out with an injury that could keep him out weeks.

Kakko looked very dominant in the pre-season. I know it's the pre-season but it was noticeable. After he got hurt early in the season, he never looked the same. I'm thinking he's been playing through something all season as I see this news.

This will allow Barron to get more ice time out there. Glad that Tinordi got waived but I am also seeing he was assigned to the taxi squad so his days as a Ranger don't appear to be over just yet.

Barron isn’t playing. I believe Gallant would rather play seven defenseman than give him playing time

Looks like Barron is in a Nemeth is out Gallant finally came to his senses.

And the best contract in all of hockey, MR KREIDER makes it 1-0 after one. And lemieux is still a POS

It's a bad matchup for them, even though the Kings are young. Miller's trade value isn't even all that high i don't think.

No quit in this team. If you're not enjoying this season I'm not sure what you're looking for.

Yeah, if there is one thing I have learned about this team you look foolish counting them out when they are down...especially by just one goal with an entire period left to play.

Great hustle play by Mika to get back and help stop that kings 2 on 0 in the third. Glad to see Laf come through in the shootout with that clutch goal to keep the rangers alive

Ho hum another win but it's all for naught since the kid's development is being stifled by that dream killing ogre GG. Guess Turk is too busy keeping the team rolling along cracking the code and unleashing CK upon the NHL. Fans like me have been waiting years for this CK to emerge. Laf had a huge shootout goal tonight, he needs to do a lot more of that. There should be a buzz in the Garden every time he's on ice.

Typical panzer. The coach is always right players always wrong. You said the same thing about Quinn, said the same thing about a AV, said the same thing about Torts. You kissed their asses also. Do some research you will not find another team in the league that has high draft picks and doesn’t give them first power-play time only the Rangers are that fucking stupid. Go look at how much power playtime Zegras and Raymond get. Or Cozens. Or Hughes. You are on fucking drugs if you think that Strome and Kreider are going to win you a Stanley Cup versus the elite teams in this league. If you think Lafreniere is going to generate a buzz in the garden when he doesn’t get first power-play time and isn’t on a scoring line with players that actually wanna incorporate him you are high. If you put Lafreniere on the Penguins I guarantee they would put them on the first power-play unit and he would be getting 70 points in a year or two.

Don't know how many times dopes in this fan base must be told this. You aren't going to put up a ton of points as a young player if you aren't getting about 18 minutes of ice time along with first unit PP time. It won't happen. Get that through your thick heads. Lafreniere barely averages 13 minutes a game and gets almost no PP time each game. Kreider gets 18 1/2 minutes a game. If he wasn't on the PP he would have 15 goals and 7 assists this year and probably less than that because his confidence would be down. Zibanejad would have 7 goals and 18 A without the PP time getting 19 1/2 minutes a game. It's mind boggling we have fans so fucking stupid they can't grasp where most of top scorers points come from. Strome would have 7 goals and 17 assists playing 18 minutes a game without the PP. Panarin would have 8 goals 19 assists playing 19 minutes a game without the PP time.

But they have those points on a power play that's their strongest in years and they're winning. They should replace players on the first unit why exactly? You're making no sense.

Strome should not be on the pp. They are winning with a team that is not going to win in the playoffs. The team turns the puck over constantly. They constantly rely on their goaltending to bail them out. They have no scoring depth. Lafreniere and Kakko were drafted to be cornerstone pieces. Strome is a guy that they might not even resign. The Rangers are not developing Kakko and Lafreniere properly. Kakko and Lafreniere should be splitting time on the first PP unit in Strome's place. It's pretty simple. This record is a mirage. It reminds me of the year Jagr had that monster season then in the first round off the playoffs they got assfucked. In the playoffs having a good PP and sucking ass at even strength won't win. Teams really concentrate on not taking penalties in the playoffs and the refs let them play a little more. The Rangers are a shitty even strength team. Fact. A huge part of that is the fact the dumb fuck organization is not committing to developing Lafreniere and Kakko, thus they have no scoring confidence, thus the team has no scoring depth, thus the team sucks moose cock at even strength.

The time for Strome to be removed from the PP should have been from day one this season. The Rangers need to commit to developing Lafreniere and Kakko and the first PP time is a huge part of doing that. If they don't do that, this team will continue to suck ass at even strength and they will easily be eliminated in the first round of the playoffs.

Right now our fans are taking their peckers out and whacking them because of teams record. I get it. You're excited. You want to make the playoffs. You hated the Islanders having success the previous 2 years. However, you're falling for the regular season trap. This team CAN NOT CONTEND for the cup without Kakko and Lafreniere getting confident and putting up points. Especially on the first PP unit. I'll give you a perfect example of how incomptent this team is with these two young players. Kakko scored 2 goals vs. Arizona the first time they played. Panarin got hurt in that game. Kakko ended up playing on the first PP unit and got over 19 minutes of icetime. Thus, he scored twice. It's not rocket science to see how it works developing elite, talented, young forwards but the Rangers can't seem to grasp it.

Yes, I'm excited to see the team make the playoffs. A guy like Blais if he is back would make a big difference with a team's style like the Kings. However, the organization has to think big picture. Kakko on the first PP unit that game did not ruin the PP. He had a PP goal and the team was 2 for 3 on the PP. They need to get Kakko and Lafreniere going if they expect to do anything. Strome is who he is. He will chip in at even strength. However, we need more confident young -players to contribute at even strength.

The Metro division's playoff teams are essentially locked at this point. Its going to be the Rangers, Hurricanes, Penguins and Caps in some order. Unless the NHL made changes to the playoff format they will face one of these teams or possibly the WC team from the Atlantic which at this point looks like it will be either Boston or Toronto.
They are 3-3 against those teams this season with 11 or 12 left to play. You can't read too much into their regular season record against these teams as evidenced by thrashing they received at the hands of the Hurricanes in 2020 but these upcoming games will be a good barometer for them.
Blais tore his ACL, he's not coming back until next season.

I’m not so sure hockey players due to the nature of the sport will come back from ACL’s if they get them early

I'm hoping he will be ready for the playoffs though I agree it's a long shot. Maybe he's a quick healer.

By the time the playoffs get here the rangers will have reinforcements on d or O or maybe both

How does putting Laf and Kakko develop them? Do they learn how to shoot better cause their is one less person on the ice?

Do they become better passers because their is one less person on the ice?

Definitely doesn't make them a better defending two way player when the other team has one less player on the ice.

So is it making them feel better to play on the pp that makes them a better hockey player?
