Kirk Hinrich

Kirk Hinrich would be EXACTLY what this team could use. Tough as nails. Heady. Love Kirk.

If the Bulls get Amare say on Tuesday, I wouldn't mind a Thursday trade like:

Bulls Receive:

Tyson Chandler
Martell Webster or Travis Outlaw
Hornets Filler

Blazers Receive:

Andres Nocioni
Kirk Hinrich

Hornets Receive:

Raef Lafrentz

It's funny when you try to pawn Noc on us.

Nobody wants his contract.

Heart, grittyness, tough defender, hustle, gold medalist.

How many more euphemisms have to be thrown out before Nocioni gets accepted in a trade?

The Chicago media keeps saying Nocioni has good trade value around the league. Which begs the question, is anyone watching? Other teams must still think of Nocioni as the player he was in 05-06. Now they just believe in a caricature of Nocioni, and not the actual, no defense, shot chucking player that he is.

.

Sounds like he's a perfect fit

....in Chicago.

After this season he is owed:

$7,500,000

$6,850,000

$6,650,000

It decreases but that doesn't change the fact that he's an overpaid mediocre player.

I agree sloth is always trying to pawn Nocioni on us. Dude it's not going to happen. You can dream about it every night if you'd like to, but there is no way Nocioni gets traded to Portland

I beg to differ! Portland would take "The Noc'" with a quickness...

... if he came along with Derrick Rose.

The last year of Noc's deal is a team option.

Kirk with some very iffy defense on Wade at the end of the game, but he really shouldn't have been in that position.

Mark Stein on ESPN.com today:

The Bulls have been shopping Larry Hughes and Gooden for months, but multiple executives suggested Tuesday night that Kirk Hinrich suddenly was closer to relocation than any other Bull entering the final day and a half of trading.

Minnesota, according to NBA front-office sources, has strong interest in Hinrich and is pursuing the 28-year-old to address a void at lead guard that hasn't been filled by Randy Foye (whose success this season came after a shift to shooting guard) or the undependable Sebastian Telfair.

The Wolves also have two expiring contracts of their own (Jason Collins and Rashad McCants) that they're prepared to shed.

Hinrich won't do much better at point than Foye.

Hinrich is hardly a "lock down" defender, let alone "amazing", lol...Solid? Yes. But let's not get carried away. And his defense has actually worsened over time.

as a PG this year .340 opponent eFG% and 7.7 opponent PER lead the league. he's obviously doing something right defensively.

 Damn good defensive player would drastically improve our perimeter defense which happens to be a huge weakness for us.

Yes he's a damn good defensive player. But he's not a damn good point guard.

I somewhat agree with you he's not an elite PG that distributes the ball. But what he does well fits perfectly with what we need especially next to Roy. He's a good shooter, very good defender, and has high BBIQ.

John Hollinger: I'm hearing for the first time discussion of the Bulls moving Kirk Hinrich, though the destination is still unknown -- "not Portland," my spy says.

Such a deal makes great sense for the Bulls but it's hard to know who would find his contract palatable in these times.

The Bulls also want to move Andres Nocioni. No surprise there -- the news is that I hear they may actually succeed.

This is great. It looks like Paxson's going to commit to Ben Gordon. No one deserved a contract extension more than him, but he was the only one not to get one, while Deng, Hinrich, and Nocioni basked in their lucrative extensions.

gordon was offered one obviously, but i guess 60 million (or whatever it was) isn't enough to bask in.

They offfered him $48 to $54 million (no one knows the exact number), which is less than Hinrich got, and way less than Deng.

And Gordon actually did agree to that, but Reinsdorf pulled the offer off the table, and wouldn't let Gordon sign the contract.

Gordon wont resign with the Bulls for the reason above. He'll flip them the bird while he strolls to a playoff team for less money and helps them try to win a championship.

There's some rumors of the Pistons being interested interested in Gordon. I'd imagine they'd make a run at Boozer as well if they go that route.

If Gordon leaves the Bulls, I think it will be to the Knicks on a 3 year MLE deal. They will use him and Duhon to sell to 2010 free agents. At the very least Gordon showcases himself, averaging 25-30 PPG in D'Antoni's offense. The Knicks I think would reward him with a hefty contract after they gain his bird rights.

But he grew up a Bulls fan, and is playing on the GB team with Luol Deng, so we'll have to just wait and see.
