The Arizona Republic reports the New York Knicks offered Grant Hill the option of a one-year, $5M contract or a three-year, $10M deal.

Hill will either re-sign with Phoenix, or head east and sign with Boston or New York.

What's the point?

Multiple options?

I don't care. Whatever keeps him out of Boston.

Hill is semi-washed up. He's better off signing with a contender and winning a ring.

Hill's the second FA to pretend to entertain NY to gain leverage in negotiations with his original team (Kidd was the first).

Sorry to jump into new water, but I'm curious...why even mess with next year's space for anyone, much less Grant Hill? I mean, that 3M is going to come in handy if the cap takes the projected hit. If you're invested in the "Get LBJ here in 10!" campaign, why even flirt with being stuck?

It's gotta be an admission by the front office that the LBJ plan is and always was a farce. Knicks fans seem to be slowly coming to the realization that they got suckered into letting their team tank on a groundless hope.
