Trade David Lee to the Bulls, please :)

Felton could be an interesting option, not an answer, but an interesting piece.

The one thing about it is, I really think Sergio would thrive in D'Antoni's system. If D'Antoni could make Chris Duhon look like Jason Kidd, then I bet Sergio if he was given the time could lead the league in assists. And with the Spanish contingent in NY, they'd love him there.

I agree playing for D'Antoni would be the best place for Sergio and I think he would do great.

^ and then we're going to wish we had him back, and a different coach.

I'm not so sure unless we played a super fast break game which I don't think we will no matter who the coach is. Sergio's defense IMO isn't good enough. I know Blake's isn't either but I'm sure someone will finally beat out Blake for the starting PG(Bayless).

The Sergio vs. Blake debate has been going on all year. What hasn't been a debate is we have no valid backup for LMA.

Sergio for Lee fills one huge need and would likely provide opportunity for Bayless to get more time and show what he can do. Then we can replace the Blake vs. Sergio debates with Blake vs. Bayless debates. What we don't have to have anymore would be the "Shoot Frye" type of threads.

Gramps...

Hey if sergio finally finds a home under D'Antoni then more power to him; my guess is his poor shooting will still relegate him to the backup role, but he should be able to thrive in a running game. Sergio + {fill-in-the-blank} for Lee fills holes for both sides, and frankly I'm anxious to see what B-Rex can do with a little bit of burn.

Dont get me wrong, I want to see Bayless play too; I think he's ultimately better for our team and its offense then Sergio. I just continue to have high hopes for sergio.....idk what it is..i like his play style....

Hmm. A Sergio Rodriguez and parts (Frye, Diogu, take back a bad salary, a second round pick) for David Lee and then a LaFrentz and Outlaw/Webster for Gerald Wallace would re-make the team nicely.

PG: Steve Blake / Jerryd Bayless
SG: Brandon Roy / Rudy Fernandez
SF: Gerald Wallace / Martell Webster / Nicolas Batum
PF: LaMarcus Aldridge / David Lee
C: Greg Oden / Joel Przybilla

Dang. That's a hard rotation to dislike. My only question is who would be the primary reserve at small forward. But either way, I love it.

Perchance to dream.

Dang, that's a pretty good and versatile lineup. Lots of ball handlers and finishers. Lots of interchangeable parts. Lots of defense and rebounding. Me likey.

Thought I heard though that Lee wants to start, and wants both the minutes & paycheck that typically go along with starting. I love the guys game, but not sure he'd be happy sharing the frontline with LMA, Oden, and Joel & coming off the bench.

I like David Lee's game, but I don't think it's what Portland needs. Lee wants starters minutes and he's not going to get those with Aldridge, Oden and Joel here. At some point later this season or next season Oden will settle into a 15/10 role and play 30ish minutes per game. Aldridge will play his 32-35 minutes per game leaving Joel and Lee to split about 30 minutes.

The other thing about Lee is that he is not a very good defender. In the West this is important with Dirk, Amare, Duncan, Gasol and others to deal with.

That being said, if KP decides to deal Sergio to NY for Lee and they accept I wouldn't mind seeing us deal Joel and some pieces for a huge upgrade at the 3. I like Joel in his role, but at some point he will get unhappy as Greg progresses. Between Oden, Aldridge, Lee and Frye? they could have a decent 4-5 rotation while adding a player....hypothetically like Wallace or Butler or whatever as well.

Leaves us with....deep breath please....

Blake/Hinrich/Bayless
Roy/Rudy
Wallace/Nocioni
Aldridge/Lee
Oden/Frye

MUCH better defensively.

Sorry guys. I was just a little bored at work.

Hmm..

Maybe we could put something together for the 6'11" Danilo Gallinari.

I was wondering when someone was going to finally mention this. Lee wouldn't want to come here to be LMA's backup for 15 mpg. I know it wouldn't really be his choice, but I don't see the point of trading for someone who likely wouldn't re-sign after the season.

Possibly more cap space. I know the list of FA this year isnt great, but if you are under the cap the salaries do not need to match when you make a trade.

Unless you're a knicks fan, this rumor has no legs.

NY has nothing KP would want for free, never mind trade away his future starting PG.

No one is suggesting trading Bayless. ;)

I certainly wasn't, as you are well aware, but I still believe that is why we got him in the first place.

KP didn't get his guy and Bayless seemed at the time to be the most easily tradeable pick.

He most certainly was not drafted because KP saw him as his future PG to lead this team.
