Right now, Jerryd is giving this team a much needed shot in the arm and with Bayless coming on in the past couple of games, it got me to thinking about how he actually does fit in with this team long term when bodies start to get healthy and guys return to the lineup.

So I wonder, is a "Jarret Jack on Steroids" point guard the best backcourt-mate for Brandon or is a "Steve Blake on Steroids" a better longer term fit? Is there even a "Steve Blake on Steroids" player out there that would be even remotely available?

I feel like I'm looking a gift horse in the mouth a little bit by questioning Bayless right now especially with how badly they need a third scorer and frankly this is probably a question for later in the year or in the off-season, but hypothetically, let's say that a guy like Mario Chalmers was on the block (rumored to be available, btw), would you trade Jerryd for a guy like that (a defensive minded guard who can hit an outside shot)?

I think that a JJ on steroids is more important than a Steve Blake clone with better defense (think, Capt. Kirk before the aliens captured him and took the basketball essence from him) - I thought I said, often, last year that we need someone else other than B-Roy attacking the rim from the dribble, especially if that guy is capable of knocking the open shot (something JB and even JJ can do, but Miller, not so much).

So, no, I do not want to trade a JB to a good Hinrich clone.

I always thought Jack was a good fit next to Roy. Here, he was always just too hesitant to take the outside shot when he was open. Maybe a few more years here,. and he would have been ok with it, or got more comfortable, but he always hesitated, and then either passed off, or penetrated. I think if Bayless is ok with taking the wide open 3 when he has it, and can hit it with some regularity, he is a better fit than Blake on steroids. Especially because Batum can end up being our Blake on HGH and steroids. With the makeup of our team, the SF and PG positions are tied to eachother.

I wouldn't. I think Jerryd's potential is a lot higher than Chalmers, and I think he's a ton more likely to get there than Chalmers.

What about a package for Stephen Curry? I could see both guys excelling in the other team's system. Bayless would be lethal with the Nellie ball green light, and Curry is perfect for playing off the ball as needed. He's not the defensive stopper you'd like to have, but that might be asking too much... I wonder how far apart Bayless and Curry's respective values are right now, and how much that gap could be closed with Bayless continuing his recent play?

A Chalmers would be a perfect fit next to Roy, who handles the ball a bit less than Wade does. A guy that would be a good fit would be a Delonte West IMO who is very much available but would of course come with a bit of baggage. Delonte really was fine for a majority of his career, so I don't see him being a long term headcase, and I foresee him bouncing back. Another guy that I believe would be a great fit is CJ Watson from Golden State. His shooting would be a great weapon next to Roy while he's is much more defensively adequate than a Steve Blake IMO.....or you can just wait for Patty Mills to see if he can develop since he is a pretty good shooting type PG.

Don't really disagree with u but I'd still rather have Bayless over any of those guys. His jumper is rapidly improving and his ability to get in the paint is ridiculous. Like Tony Parker, Monte Ellis, Devin Harris quickness. He's not there yet but IMO he will be soon.

I'm not saying to move Bayless, just he would be better in a Terry/Barbosa type role while a spot guy like Watson, West, or even Boobie Gibson would be a huge pick-up to play for 15-20 minutes next to Roy.
