Does anyone else think that maybe KP is setting the team up for him to succeed in two years? If he adds more rookies, that like to get out and run I will believe this wholeheartedly. KP was a damn good coach in the cba, and could go Pops on us. Maybe that's why Tom Penn decided to stay?

Conspiricy theory at best, but just wondering if anyone else thinks that's possible?

I've thought that was possible since last year. :)

I would love for that to be true. I like Nate, but I'm also in awe of Pritchard and Penn.

Who knows.

Just to add fuel to the fire---

In the Freeman puff piece, did you see anywhere where Nate and KP were boys? I read that TP got assimilated quickly into the group of midwest basketball minds. I know there's healthy respect b/w Nate and the others, but at some point do you think that Nate's "misses" and differences in philosophy are going to lead KP to allow Nate to move to another good situation?

Though KP has said that coaches work too hard.

I very much doubt it. I think his experience actually coaching the team after Mo was let go probably told him this is a real headache of a job.

why coach? thats probably the only way he gets fired in the next 20 years is if he turns into the coach and blows it.

The article was about the guys behind the scene and how they're already drawing attention around the league. Nate isn't exactly behind the scenes. I've seen many articles/excerpts of the great open relationship between Nate/KP.

Never happen. Pritchard is a top GM and makes very good money doing that. Why would he submit himself to all the rigors of being a coach?

Cause he likes it?

Why would Pat Tillman leave the NFL for a war?

Why do we drive sports cars and SUV's?

Why do thousands of people leave their jobs to take a less paying job?

It's because of love and a desire.

Nope not going to happen. I'm not saying the Blazers won't have a different coach it just isn't going to be KP.

I wonder if SA fans gave a  when Pop said he was going to coach and be involved in player moves?

No way. KP likes being GM better than Coach.

I have been thinking this for a while. Isn't Nate's contract up this summer? I have heard no talks of an extension or anything like that.
