Am I crazy for thinking that KP will pull some crazy shit out of his hat tomorrow? In his first draft he worked magic and snagged Roy and Aldridge. Since then I think he has been playing things slow, letting the cake bake so to speak. Now he has his back against the wall. It's do or die. I'm thinking Pritch might have a few more slaps up his sleeve. What say you?

Beats the crap out of me, but I am excited about tomorrow. Epic win, epic disaster, or just a letdown? I don't know but we'll see soon.

My bet is rumors of deals that can't be announced until July 1.

What kind of slaps are you thinking of? If it is Paul, I just don't know if we could get it done that soon. If it is for more picks, I am not to excited because the last thing we need is more youth and living through there growing pains (if they even got to play anyway). I don't know, I would love to see some great trade, but don't think KP really does anything, except draft the Spaniard in this years draft (don't really know if there is one).

Well, if the rumors are true, and KP is out after the draft, then I'd say he has less than 24 hours to impress Paul Allen.

Perhaps. I just don't know if the Hornets are willing to bite that quick. Then again, if there is a settlement between the new ownership or whatever that mess is, perhaps later isn't best either if they do want to move on without him. KP does need to have a few tricks whether that is Paul or some other PROVEN player, not more young players.

Pritchard will pull off the biggest move of his life, but we will pay dearly for the emergency trade.

What will he do?

Drink heavily. Stagger. Slur his words. Drink some more. Try to kill Kolde with a staple remover. Draft Jerome Randle. Wander off to work for a saner franchise.

I think KP will TRY and pull off some monster, but in the end, it takes two to tango

I feel the same way. He might get lucky and find a deal that's too good to be true, but those don't happen all that often in the NBA. I strongly suspect that his biggest move will be getting a lottery pick and snagging a guy like Patrick Patterson (or maybe Paul George).

What will he do? A minor trade, a couple of draft choices, get fired, go home, lay his Blazer dancer ho, errrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, girlfriend, blow some coke and pass out.

They tend to only happen when the player in question really, really wants the trade to go through.

Unfortunately for Portland, they are a less then desirable destination for NBA players.

Forget this bullshit about wanting to win.
What has Portland won lately that would make a player think a title was a sure thing by coming here?
Add to that the City of Portland's wonderful distinction of being the whitest NBA city and you have a real PR problem.

I think this is why Portland will have a very, very difficult time bringing in any great players by any means other then the draft.

I don't know...Boston openly hated on African-Americans for 35 years and got quite a few titles.

That was a different era entirely then today. There really weren't too many places in America an African American could be comfortable.

The same isn't as true now.

Also, see the winning thing. Boston has won a fuck ton of titles in their history as opposed to Portland's one.

Then for me it would come down to possibly looking at a current player's situation vs Portlands... Paul for example (not saying a trade will happen) But where do you think he has a better chance of winning in his current situation in NOLA, or here?

Paul > Miller
Thornton < Roy
Peja > Batum
West > Aldridge
Okafor = Oden (at best right now)
Monty > Nate

Seems to me his chances aren't really improved here, but then again I'm not a homer.

Not to mention that it would cost a couple of those guys to get Paul

Gut feeling: probably nothing.

A lot of bark with no bite lately. We'll hear a lot of talk but something actually coming to fruition is unlikely. I hope I'm wrong!

Uh...what?

Monty > Nate? Really?

Do you hate the Blazers?

Assuming that we ignore the silly idea that Peja's decaying body is better than Batum (Ha, that's a funny one) - we can expect a package to be built around the expiring of Miller, JP and pieces. Can't see NOH touching Roy's big contract when their idea is to cut salary, so what CP3 will be left with is a line that includes Paul, Roy and...? That most defintely is much better than what he has in NOH right now... If Portland also manages to hang on to Oden - this is a potential championship contender out of the gate...

My prediction is that Tony Parker will be a Trail Blazer by the end of the day. IN KP I TRUST!

It doesn't matter what KP does. He's gone. I wish him nothing but the best and thank him for making me proud of this team again.

Peja > Batum
West > Aldridge

Serious? Every GM in the league would take Batum over Peja. Peja is almost worthless at this stage of his career.
West and Aldridge are debatable, but I think Aldridge is better and has more potential than West. I think 80% of GM's would agree.

I've been proven wrong. I'm a homer. And Peja is Better than Batum LOL!!

thats cause we are homers.

Yes, I'm sure all those non-homer GMs out there would trade Batum and Oden for Peja and Okafor (even not considering contracts).

Goodness.

Give Batum 31 MPG like Peja not only does he have better stats.. he plays defense, and shoots a better %.. I'm sorry but for real? Peja > Batum? That one has me laughing big time.. almost as big of a blunder as the AMMO thread rebirth a couple months ago.

Can we have an "I told you Peja was better than Batum" Thread? ahahah

Of course they would take Batum. He's younger and will be a lot better in a few years. Right now though, I think Peja is better.

Also, 80% of GM's would take Aldridge over 2 time all-star David West?
