I still maintain that the best Jason Quick radio/chat moment was when he flipped out at the guys in the Blazer forum like Jet and cup in like 2004. He just went on this like three minute tirade about how they were always bashing him and didn't know half the stuff he did and how he kept so much of the 'negative' stuff to himself. It was truly great.
That has nothing to with this but Papa brought up the radio and it triggered the memory.

is your new avatar a morph of adam sandler and bob saget?

WTF? Just max out Roy for 5 years!
Getting Milsap will give a little leverage in the LMA contract negotiations.
this sucks reading this...totally deflating, true or not.

The idea that we would be this far in negotiations with Roy and LMA is odd. How big are their capholds? Are they larger than $10 mil/year? If not, we don't want to re-sign them until after we use our cap space.
Just odd story. It seems like Quick should have mentioned it in the article - it's relevant.
Anybody else getting the feeling KP might only be cut out for running the draft and scouting talent? Goddammit![]()
Translation: a source that I don't find credible or with any veracity told me a rumor that I wanted to print as a story. That Roy is unsigned is particularly alarming and a signal that negotiations have snagged. Word is that Roy wants to sign for the maximum allowed five years, but the Blazers only want to commit to four years. A five-year deal would cost Portland about $82 million, although it won't be determined until the 2010-11 salary cap is set.
The Oregonian reports the Blazers want to sign Brandon Roy to a four-year extension, but Roy wants a five-year deal.
The newspaper also reports the team had hoped to sign LaMarcus Aldridge to a deal that would pay around $10M a year, but now that Toronto has signed Andrea Bargnani to a five-year $50M extension, the Blazers will have to pony up at least $11M per year for Aldridge.
It is an EXTENSION. Whether we sign them now or after we use our cap space has no effect. It would only effect next year.
