KP wrestling with failure - Roy and Aldridge talks stalled

Again, if this is true, Pritchard/Vulcans need to be held accountable, especially considering they offered HEDO F**KING TURKOGLU FIVE YEARS. Sign Roy, YESTERDAY, and LMA too.

I did put the "if" qualifier in my post above ... but .... umm ... wow. I'm willing to withold judgment until we get more information, but I have a hard time believing Quick would just throw this out there if he hadn't heard it from at least a somewhat credible source -- doing otherwise makes no sense as a reporter, unless you intend to burn some bridges and damage some relationships with the team that you cover day in and day out.

What this report is alleging is basically incomprehensible. It's almost equivalent to a report that the Blazers are considering waiving Aldridge. When the claim is that off-the-wall, either there's been an outbreak of insanity that has affected multiple people in the same front office, or the report is simply not accurately representing the situation.

Fuckin' Kevin Pritchard.

Quit fucking around with the franchise guy and quit dicking around.

KP's ego is starting to get on my nerves.

I hope Quick is just assuming that because Bargnani signed today, and that Brandon and LaMarcus didn't, that something went wrong... when in reality, the Blazers have just been so focused on Hedo and Millsap and contingency plans that they aren't too worried about our two cornerstones. But we should be getting these guys signed as our first priority.
None of this free agency, cap space, lopsided trade crap means anything to me if we don't get these two signed.

I hope you are right. If Roy and Aldridge aren't signed by next week, we're going to seriously have to think about what's on KP's mind.

This is crazy.

come on guys, what happened to "In Pritch We Trust". its everyone's mantra. tatoo it on your forehead.

This offseason just seems to be one letdown after another... I mean, I'll withhold a final judgment until the end when training camp starts, but I haven't been exactly jumping for joy with anything that's happened so far.

I don't understand then, how the easiest of easy decisions, can take so long to make? Roy - 5years/Max, DONE, give it to him. Why is it taking so long? Unless there's really a snatch going on with the negotiations.

It would make sense if Quick got it backwards. Roy should be lobbying for fewer years, Pritchard for more.

Yeah, if those two aren't signed by next week... I'll seriously be worried. What kind of negotiations other than here's the max we can give you, sign here franchise cornerstone, Rookie of the Year, All-NBA Second-Teamer, Two-Time All-Star.

That's the crazy part of this. Why would Quick publish this unless there was some substance behind it? This is the most mind-boggling news about the Blazers I can remember since the day Oden's MF was announced.

Seriously, what is going on? Is Pritchard in some sort of meltdown, or is Quick just full of s**t?

Makes a Roy-for-Paul trade more palatable. Paul WANTS to be here, and he already has a max 5yr extension. :)

I kid. This is past the point of credibility. I'm with MM and PapaG on this one. If true, however, stand the eff by.

At the very least, a public announcement needs to be made regarding a 5-year commitment by the team to both players. What the hell is Oden supposed to think if the team is screwing around with Roy?

I'm just pissed off and irritated right now. I can't believe what I'm hearing. In addition to willing to give Hedo five years, we're preparing a 5-year offer for Paul Millsap, right? And not giving five years to Brandon and LaMarcus? This isn't adding up.

Yeah, I posted that earlier today, but then, Roy could make that decision and it would be done.

Quick did say that word on the street is blah blah blah . . . so it sounds like more than speculation because Roy hasn't signed yet.

No matter what . . . there hasn't been a lot of good news for the Blazers this summer so far.

Maybe he doesn't feel Roy is worth the money, after all if he doesn't offer it to him then it must be true? remember, we're not KP, we're fans...we don't know what his plans are!

This wouldn't be the first article he's published that turned out to be totally wrong.

Take a step back and think about it for a second. It's dangerous to be emotionally tied to everything you read on the internet.

It may be delayed until Portland finishes it's dealings on the free agent market, for procedural/clerical reasons.

Why WOULDN'T we want to sign him for the most years possible? If anything, I would have guessed Roy would want less years, and KP would want more.
THis

What the fuck is going on here? KP is starting to piss me off..you do what Roy wants, this should have been the easiest thing he has ever had to do. He fucks this up, he is dead to me as the GM of the Blazers.

Honestly, the only explanations I can come up with are:

1 - Article is wrong.

2 - Losing Hedo also resulted in KP LOSING HIS FRICKING MIND.

True, but Quick actually does have some insight and access to the players. I'm wondering who has the agent that played him at this point. This is "lose your locker room pass" type of stuff to put in print.

This makes less sense than signing a deal with comcrap being making sure everyone can view the games on TV.

Yes, Turk is the kind of transformative superstar that can make people go insane. :)

One vote for incorrect/incomplete report.

I'm with you on this, PapaG. The 180 Quick's pulled here on KP is unprecedented and dangerous to believe from a "Trenton Hassell is signed" and "Iavoroni's the coach" kind of reporter.
