Chris Kreider: (Hand) Practiced Friday
Posted on May 2, 2014 at 10:59 AM

NEWS UPDATE
Kreider (hand) took part in Friday's practice, The Record reports.

ROTOWIRE FANTASY ANALYSIS
Kreider donned a non-contact jersey for portions of Friday's morning skate, when his shooting reportedly appeared to be improving strength-wise. However, considering he has been sidelined since late March, Kreider will need more practice work before he can return to the Rangers' lineup.

Maybe he does get back later this series. Sounds like good progress

Yeah, maybe a game 6 or 7. I think that is possible. He should be back for the ECF for sure if we win this series.

Sounds like he could be close. Perhaps a game four return.

I don't see 5 days. He needs a few practices, and then practice with contact before he can play. I will say 6 or 7. That is 9 or 11 days away.

I'm thinking if he's practicing now game 5 which is a week from now could be a real possibility

I would agree that would be best case...game 5. But barring a setback it is very likely he will be back later this series.

He better have been skating and riding the bike to keep his legs in shape.

He has actually been skating for a while so I don't think conditioning would be a problem. Timing is another story.

Kreider was seen mostly stick handling today and showing stronger passes and more strength on his forehand. (Steve Zipay and Andrew Gross)

Alain Vigneault said that Kreider is improving but wouldn’t commit to him returning in this series. (Katie Strang)

I still feel game 6...maybe game 5 is best case.

seeing his teammates grind it out , knowing he could make a difference, the adrenaline flow... get him out there ASAP!

Kreider shooting slapshots in practice today which I think is the final test for the wrist as Duguay stated. I have a feeling kreider is suiting up for game 4

I'd say Game 5 at the earliest, especially if its 3-1.

I agree, I think we see him tomorrow night....

Sounds to me that if the Dr. clears him, he will be in the lineup tomorrow night.

According to a few twitters today, he is in for tonight. Practicing this AM in regular jersey (not no contact jersey)....

That would be a plus.

Kreider/Stepan/Nash
Hags/Richards/MSL
Pouliot/Brassard/MZA
Boyle/Moore/Carcillo

Not bad at all. With the way this has gone since game 1, I think the winner tonight wins the series.

Getting Nash back on the right side can only help. Not making an excuse for his awful play but mayble it'll give him a jump.

11:09AM: Kreider described his situation as day to day and wouldn’t say whether he was cleared or whether he would play tonight. (Katie Strang)

10:55AM: Kreider doesn’t appear impaired while going through drills. Larry Brooks says that he is “snapping” the puck. (Twitter)

10:24AM: Chris Kreider is on the ice in a regular jersey, not a non-contact jersey, and taking part in a full morning skate with the team for the first time since undergoing surgery on his hand. (Steve Zipay and Pat Leonard)

sit fast and miller bring back carcillo and insert kreider and we will score 4!

All the anger is out of me...its time to rebuild the energy and positiveness...is that a word...if not...well dam it im being positive

WE WILL WIN TONIGHT!

11:28AM: Kreider has been medically cleared but Alain Vigneault is unsure if he will play. (Katie Strang)

So if he plays tonight that will be about 6 weeks from the injury.

2-edge sword. On one end his speed and shot will help us create chances (hopefully), on the other we're dressing a player who's coming off significant injury who will be rusty in a must-win game.

They probably wont reveal it until game time. Welcome back CK.

Yup they'll wait, it will be nice to have fresh legs on the ice. CK will be in beast mode tonight, someone needs to show Nash how its done.

Mel. Im with you on this one. There's not a chance in hell that CK is not on the ice tonight if he has really been cleared by the Dr.

I will take rusty Kreider over what we have.

rusty, shmusty. He has been skating for the last month. Not like his legs were broken.

This is a really good point. One thing I dont understand is Nash is sukkkkking again but has been playing out of position. I know he needs to adjust but he is an important player who is struggling, they need to get him to the side he is most comfortable

I hate that as an excuse...Nash technically is playing out of position as a left handed shot on the right side.
