It's a contract year. Unless he's a moron, if he goes 30-30 which he should do in his sleep, he's going to get 6 years, 36 million. If the Rangers don't give it to him, another team will with a RFA offer. This is exactly the type of player everybody wants. Especially the Bruins. My concern is not Kreider scoring 30+ this season. It's what he will do after he gets a big contract. I could see him be lazy over some of that contract.

I think his head is very in the game, in fact I think he's sometimes TOO in the game. He gets in his own head and is very hard on himself when he hits a slump. After he was thrown out of the Wild game for boarding he didnt throw another hit for 2 weeks. But look at the quotes below. These are all very encouraging because it shows a guy who cares and is committed. Big year coming for him, mark it down.

If rangers are smart and can fit it a long term deal with kreids should be a high priority. Unfortunately, the god damn cap may rear its ugly head and have a say in it.

I luv his game, just does some things a little over the top sometimes, but he's a keeper in my books

Have to wonder is he saying it because the team needs him to OR because he will be a rfa after the season and so fsr he hasnt proven to be a top notch player for a 80plus game season.....pessimistic view i know but the thought crossed my mind

yea, on one hand i read all those quotes as "this is a guy determined to maximize his talent", and on the other hand i read the quotes as "he wants to make sure he can cash in"

I definately wouldn't characterize him as lazy. Streaky yes. He's best when he plays with a controlled aggressiveness, otherwise he tends to end up in the box.
