"Kyrie is Dame Lillard, scoring a bunch of points doing nothing."

Both of them are doing good commercials. That's not nothing.

btw, all he meant was that Kyrie would be like Damian in that he hasn't lead his team anywhere.

Dame has lead his team to the 2nd round twice.

I wasnt agreeing with him, I meant that was what he meant. Not that Damian is a bum.

Not sure why we care what he says to be honest, he was a football star.

Yes... Yeeesssss...

Piss Dame off more, please.

In other breaking news, without LeBron, CLE has zero titles.

WTF Captain Obvious? How many titles does Chris Paul have? How many times has he led his team past the 2nd round? How many titles has Russell Westbrook won? And he had Durant (and at one time Harden and Ibaka) as a teammate.

Why you gotta single out Dame??? He's done more with less than several other big name "stars".

BNM

Dame is better player, much better leader. I know anyone else besides our fanbase don't think like that, but fuck it.

We saw Irving without LeBron, we saw him when LeBron rest games, CLE was awful. Now, he's on the team with arguably best coach in the NBA and great system, so he produces, but still, Al fucking Horford averages more assists than him.

I could make an argument Dame would average 8-10 assists per game, if Nurk can finish at the rim. Or if he had just better ofensive system.

Not in the sports media’s mind. Somewhere has “finals” at the end

And, in the sports media's minds, it was Kyrie that lead the Cavs to the finals?

Apparently, the sports media are stupid.

Yeah they are, but they also give the lions share of the credit to Lebron as they rightfully should. Just sayin nobody’s hanging banners for making it outta the first round of the playoffs and that’s the furthest we’ve been in 20+ years. I’m loyal to dame I would rather have him as the franchise player and leader every single time over him but expecting respect from National talking heads for that small amount of success is a fools errand. Just look how they (at least they used to) roast cp3 for his lack of postseason success. It’s finals or nothing every damn year and it’s time we got used to it.

Have to agree here. Dame doesn't get the credit he deserves for his leadership, maturity, character. Let alone his accomplishments in this small market with less talent around him than those he's compared against.

That's kind of the point, though, right?
A) Kyrie's done jack and shit without riding LeBron's coattails. He's this generation's James Worthy, without the class and all-around game.
B) CP3 has not been getting roasted recently, despite the fact that (as you point out) he's had less success with more talent (except the year Dame beat him, when their "more talent" got injured in G5 and G6)
C) I'm reminded that they think Paul George is a pretty good player. As is Biggie Cousins. As is Anthony Davis. As is/was Carmelo Anthony.
D) Russell Westbrook, BTW, even with his 51pt triple-double (on 43 shots, if memory serves) seems not to have done much without KD around. I guess he'll get his chance this year.

I guess what I'm asking is: would any one of Harden/RW/(Curry or Durant)/LMA/Butler trade their roster for ours, if their life depended on winning a playoff series?

A) we’ll see cause the Celtics look deep but I agree he hasn’t done shit
B)I think he should be but because he is who he is he has avoided it lately
C)Paul George has been to the ecf and had tough matchups with bron. Cousins is considered a malcontent by most media figures not a team leader yet. Ad hasn’t had an all star level teammate until this year so he has an excuse. People (myself included) used Olympic success to validate melo also he’s been to the Wcf.

D)tussle is considered a selfish player and if this team fails to make any postseason noise he should be held accountable.

I wouldn’t trade any of those rosters for ours. But that lack of talent around him doesn’t also validate dame as a perennial type player. Only postseason wins and trips to the finals can do that.

Big market mouthpieces like these guys probably haven't watched an entire Blazers game all year....it's just a bunch of hot air.....neither of them has sniffed an NBA court....I'd consider the source when these guys make stupid statements like they did here....Dame has broken records since his rookie year...the guys he's matched up with in the record books for accomplishments are Oscar Robertson, Lebron, etc.....what a load of crap dissing Kyrie or Dame.....Kyrie is one of the best finishers in the modern game. Dame is a leader and winner.

I don’t understand how Dame gets ripped on so much. He’s a strong leader, a great community member, stands up for his coaches and teammates, and on top of that, he’s a great basketball player. What gives?

Because the league media is full of sycophants, bootlickers and ass kissers who stroke of the already massive egos of the most box office sport participants in America. Players, writers and fans know that there is only so many places on the annual wild ride of the All-Star Train and they get pissed when the popular candidates aren't chosen.

This is about the sit down on TNT 20 years from now when all the best players talk about the good old days. This is about those discussions online about, "Why isn't (Fill in the blank) in the HOF?" This is about the hip hop artist calling NBA All Stars up onstage for an encore.

Dame is demanding a seat someone else usually gets. And that pissed off people who already have him pegged as "merely a good player." But hes smart and visible. So FUCK them!

Even though I don't like the comparison that clip was funny as hell seeing Skip Bayless try and prop Kyrie up and Sharpe just destroy him.

I’ve never, ever understood the Kyrie veneration. Granted, he’s a good ball player, but better than Dame??? Shit, he wasn’t even the best player in his draft class (see Klay Thompson and Kawhi Leonard.....with a side of Jimmy Butler). And had LBJ never returned to Cleveland, Irving would be just another decent player on a bad team. The guy is way too overhyped by the media....and by himself. Good, but nothing particularly special without a great deal of help. Dame has the guy pretty well beat in most, if not all categories. Screw Kyrie Irving.

We made WCF 18 & 19 years ago.

Omg James Worthy was wayyyy better than Kyrie.

I think it's because of Portland's reputation. We're referred to as "the soccer moms" for a reason. When you complain about ever perceived sleight and tell everyone that'll listen how you're the most knowledgeable fan, people pile it on unfairly. Because that's what you do when someone annoys the shit out of you.
