I come across this clip and welp, windhorst gonna windhorst. Forced Lamarcus out of town? what is this fuck on?!?! this narrative is still running around? Dame isn't popular? last time I checked he has a hip hop album, all over commercials, etc.

This needn't be on a board where it's gonna be skewed and not have a good representation.

They're pretty similar as players. I think Lillard could have gotten along with James, though.
Similar but I think the numbers and the fact Kyrie couldn't do shit without Lebron speaks for something. Dame. I think Kyrie is great but extremely gassed up by Lebron lovers and you know, those people who know nothing about basketball but think dribble moves are everything.

To be fair to Kyrie - his years without Lebron were when he was much younger that Dame and lacking experience. I would say that there are some aspects of his game that he is better at than Dame - and vice versa. I suspect however that he will never be the leader that Dame is. With all that said, Dame for me.

Who's more durable? I think we know the answer.

Kyrie is extremely overrated.
Kemba puts up almost the exact same numbers as Kyrie and he's not playing with the best player in the world.

But as far as whos better Lillard or Irving.
Lillard has never not shown up in a playoff game. Can't really say the same about Irving. Takes his team falling down 3-1 before Irving decides it's time to play.

I say Dame is better. He has actually been able to win a series without having LeBron James on his team and in a packed West. They are similar players, but until Kyrie can prove he can LEAD a team, I would take Dame every time over Kyrie.

Lillards AVGs for playoffs,
22.9, 6.5, 5
21.6, 4.6, 4 16% from 3 on this one, forgot he injured his hand for the Grizz series
26.5, 6.3, 4.3 .
27.8, 3.3, 4.5

Kyries
19.0 3.8, 2.8
25.2, 4.7, 3.
25.9, 5.3, 2.8

Dames doing that against better competition and being the one guy other teams are trying to take away while irving is the 2nd option on the Cavs. He shoots a hell of a lot better then Dame in the playoffs but i'd like to see what Irving shoots when teams decide to take him away instead of having one of the 3 greatest players of all time being there to create for Irving.

True, I just don't think he could carry a team like Dame. I don't think he is ready to lead a team or attempt to. He would put up great numbers but the fact is Dame has been able to lead this team to the playoffs damn near every year of his besides his rookie year. Past two seasons without Lamarcus and that squad. Last two seasons were his best and his numbers have only gotten better

What truth? That most Blazers fans will vote for their very good player over a very good player from another team? Cool.
No I am just saying yeah there are people who are obviously bias here but come on I think we have a lot of members who would also be real about it

Do you disagree with the majority? If so, why? If you think Irving is better, why? Make your case. Don't just disagree to disagree, add a little substance to the discussion.

It's true to say that Lillard showed up just like any other game when it was game 4 in the last playoffs... down 0-3, he still played his heart out. There's a lot that can be said for that.

Very similar players who do it in different ways.

Dame has the better speed/strength combo (allows him to get fouled more often) while Kyrie has more handle and craft both around the rim and in the mid range which gives him the edge in creation situations vs. elite defenders imo. Both are below average defenders but Kyrie giving maximum effort is a notch ahead of what Dame's best gives you, but the difference is negligible.

What moves Dame slightly ahead for me is his growth curve and leadership ability. Dame has gotten better every year while Kyrie's game just hasn't evolved much since his rookie year besides taking better care of the ball. Maybe you can attribute some of that to playing with LeBron but nonetheless, I trust Dame's "want to" more than Kyrie's.

I think they are basically the same guy. Poor defenders, good scorers, decent distributors.

Given that Kyrie was a key part of the Cavs beating the Warriors two years ago, that's a notch for him, but having LeBron next to you was pretty important.

Bottom line: if you polled a bunch of general NBA people you'd probably get a 60/40 split for Kyrie, but the gulf is more like a fissure; not enough to matter.

Actually, if you polled general nba fans, It would most likely be 80/20. Or 80/10/10, with the 10 being "Who? I don't know anyone but steph curry and Kevin Durant."

They are so similar. Both complete garbage defenders. Dame better deep shooter. Irving better handles. Irving offensive repertoire is slightly better. Dame has better intangibles.

Lillard wins cause he plays for the Blazers

When I look at the comments on that youtube video, I see a lot of top comments replying with Dame.
