Aldridge: Agent Looking Overseas

Posted: 8/23/2011 5:54:00 PM

(LaMarcus) Aldridge, who just finished a weeklong trip to China as part of Nike’s Festival of Sports, refused to discuss the ongoing NBA lockout and was tight-lipped about a host of other subjects. But he did offer one interesting note about the possibilities of playing overseas should the NBA’s work stoppage stretch deep into the season as many expect.

“I’ve thought about it; it’s a possibility,” Aldridge said of playing internationally. “My agency is looking into it.”

Aldridge would not say what country or international league he has interest in and refused to reveal whether he has received any formal offers.

Deceptive thread title. Roger. Over and out.

I don't think it's worth the risk for high-contract/lesser-known players to go overseas. Let the Kobe Bryants and Carmelo Anthonys go off to make a statement. LMA should just sit back and wait things out, even if he is the player rep for the Blazers.

At best, LMA makes a few million, and it's not even sure he'll even see the money.

LMA is the team's union rep. Can't do much rep'ing if you're playing overseas.
