This is why trolls shouldn't be banned, this entire thread was beyond hilarious.

The word troll should be added to the no-no list.

It seriously gets tossed around a ridiculous amount here.

U TROLLIN'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NO U R GIT OF MY FORM

He didn't call him a troll. He said to stop trolling.

It's not the same thing. One is an adjective, the other is a verb.

So stop being an asshole or don't be an asshole is somehow ok, but you are an asshole is wrong?

You do realize how incredibly ridiculous that is, right?

You can be an asshole and still be within the rules of the forum.

You can't troll and be within the rules of the forum. Personally, I don't think calling someone a troll is a personal attack because trolling is against the rules. I don't think someone should be penalized for calling a spade a spade.

Trolling is especially damaging to a forum because it creates intended drama. You are aware what trolling is, no?

Rule #1: All posters with honorable intentions are welcome.

Trolls do not have honorable intentions.

So who determines who a troll is and is not? Some may consider Kingspeed or Mags a troll, for examlpe

Kingspeed does troll. He admitted it at one point. I don't think Mags trolls though. I think the question you have to ask is, "does this person actually believe what they're saying or are they posting it to get a reaction?" That's how I look at it.

So we all just have to conform to your opinion of what is honorable?

Who made you the honor police?!

So if a person calls someone a troll when they may not intend to be, then that would be wrong, right?

So you're saying someone is unintentionally trolling?

A troll is someone who is a person who sows discord on the Internet by starting arguments or upsetting people, by posting inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, either accidentally or with the deliberate intent of provoking readers into an emotional response or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion

This literally happens in every thread with more than a couple of posts.

There are a number of questionable people on this forum that do troll. And I do think there's a difference between saying someone is "trolling" and outright calling someone a "troll."

I think there have been times when virtually every single person on the forum has trolled to an extent, but there are only a few true trolls. If someone tells you to stop trolling, that could be a legitimate post about something you said. If someone outright calls you a troll, that's a pretty bold statement.

This will get us nowhere, so agree to disagree

Trollish is as Trollish does. Ma'am.

It's the same damn thing and you know it.

Of course I do. But that's the way it was explained to all of us a million times. And that's how most people now have shifted their approach in their responses.

I see it quite a bit. I've wanted to call people dumb, moron, etc several times. Instead, I call the post moronic, and nothing gets edited.

So I'm just curious BG, but do you think there's a difference between BEING a troll and trolling?

I think someone who constantly posts such things as "AssClown" and Leonar_" could be considered to be trolling a Blazer forum. It's one thing to not like a certain coach or a player, but making up childish names for them, IMO, is meant to get under other posters' skins. To see that same guy whine and cry for two days now is hilarious.

Personally I don't see why "AssClown" and "Leonar_" would get under anyone's skin. And because of that, I wouldn't consider it trolling.

If you focus solely on the off topic comments then some of the mods SLY looking at you are among the biggest offenders.
