In my opinion if you start a thread with a hot take that is incredibly stupid, then you deserve to have people call you out on it being stupid.

If you're gonna post a thought, back up why it's a good idea. This is basically the equivalent of someone in a Milwaukee Bucks forum saying that the Bucks should bench Middleton and start DiVencenzo.

If you watch the games I don't think there is any possible way to pinpoint Nurk starting over Collins as an issue right now. If you don't watch the games and only look at stats then it is even more crystal clear that Nurk is playing better. The only conclusion is to assume that the OP is trolling or ignorant (or both) in this case and I don't feel bad at all for saying so.

Its not even that hard to defend his question.
Just about everyone believes the Blazers arent contenders. Many people even people saying how “whatever” this idea is, have said Zach is the future of the Blazers at Center, that its not Nurkic. Ive heard many of you guys say Zach is the perfect 5 for todays game. The insinuation has been that Nurkic is a stop gap. He didnt say go get rid of Nurk tomorrow, he asked when.

For future games, I look to the coaches to be more open to making changes based on moving quickly to alternative lineups to stop runs of points like we saw in this game. We should have answered the 2nd quarter Warrior swish3 run with Blazer swish3 runs to provide the additional 12+ points that were missing early in that quarter, and we have the scoring power to do it. Let's give Nurk help by alternating Meyers with him to add scoring power and energy especially when Zach is having an off game.

Swish! Chris, KS and I were ALL yelling to put Meyers in. It was silly for him not to be in there!! We all cheered loudly when he was finally put in. It was a good matchup for him.

Though, we'd of still lost the game anyway. But we still wanted him in from the 1st quarter on! Bad decision by Stotts.

His question was after a hot take that "Nurk has to go." You're having to insinuate what he meant by that in order to defend his post. This is my problem with it. The OP posts a lot in a specific way to get people to react to it. You don't know all the history between the posters or what has been said in the past to warrant responses. In the O-Live forum you can't tell me that if Cup posted something you didn't like you wouldn't respond differently than if a new poster said something.

Nurk has been fantastic this season so far. He deserves more respect right now than for people to "insuate" he's a stop gap or that he needs to go. Nurk is also young enough to where he isn't just a temporary replacement.

Did I argue with Cup on the o-live forum?

Anyways I get it. Not gonna drag it out anymore than it already has been. Nurkic isnt going anywhere any time soon, and my opinion on the topic at hand is, we still need to see more from Collins to decide if he’s the “future” or not. He has definitely shown some flashes, and his defense is solid.
I think the best case for the Blazers is one of two things, they can use Zach in a trade package for a “allstar-esque” type player, or he ends up coming into his own at some point.

Would I trade Nurkic? Not for a while, he’s young and playing well. I even wonder at times why they dont use him more.

Shows how far Nard's has come that people are calling for him to enter the game.
Who knows what would've happened those two years he went into the off-season injured and was forced to rehab. Instead of play basketball.
No excuses he should've got his head out of his ass far quicker. But it looks like it's finally happened.
The guy doesn't make excuses and he finally owns his pump faking casper. Dare I say it even propels him into playing better.
Now if he comes into next year better on the defensive end, Portland might have something.(Ala not just a 7ft broomstick guards throw runners over)

I think its clearly hyperbole that Nurk is 100x better. At least to me Nurk is definitely better how we want to quantify that, I have no idea. Zach is probably the one guy on the team that I just watch and think so is he going to figure this out or not? He’s got potential, tons of it. Whether its coaching or age, or whatever he has not put it all together yet...

I know this will just bring back the Im a Zach hater stuff, but I kind of wish he had stayed in School and let Mark Few coach him up. Most of the guys Few has coached have come into the league with a very good core set of skills.

Maybe it's because it's the weekend and everyone's trying to live their best fish life but...

This comment is silly. Does defense not mean ANYTHING anymore...? Zach has a +1.5BPM (-0.2 Off / +1.7 Def).

...And his offense isn't even bad! He's shooting 59% from 2pt, 38% from 3pt, and 87% from the FT-line (for a stellar 63.4 TS%).

What is up with everyone lately? Smh.

He’s averaging just over 8 ppg and 4rpg. I know, no stat can really encapsulate all that goes on, on a basketball court. However lately he has problems just staying out of foul trouble. Some of its he doesnt have the respect from the refs yet. Some of it is just silly fouls.

Also Turnovers are quickly becoming a problem for him (and the whole freaking team) his tov% this year is 19.7.

He’s got potential, but I think its hard to say him or anyone on the bench played all that well on that road trip. Hopefully this homestand helps them get back on track.

Do you see what I'm responding too? The dude said jesus 100x worse than Nurkic and playing like a Rec Leaguer... of course he's going to struggle in different aspects, he just turned 21 years old. That comment was simply ridiculous.

They also come in older than Zach is now and still need a year or two to hit their stride...

So do you agree with the post your adding onto that says Zach is playing like a Rec Leaguer???

Im not quite sure this is a serious question... Short answer, no...
I think he’s struggled but I think its a product of playing most of his minutes with a 2nd unit thats struggling.
Id honestly rather they ran the offense through Zach at the mid post, than through ET... Offensively to me Zach is still a work in progress, but ET is mostly just bad, even this years improved version of ET isnt particularly exciting.

I just think Zach wouldve benefitted with another year of college, especially because I believe Gonzaga does an amazing job at developing basketball skills.

Yah, Nurk most likely can't beat 100 Zachs on the floor or even two Zachs so don't take it too literally.

But Nurk has a PER of almost 25 and is an elite defender to boot. You don't create a great team by trading your best players to develop hopefuls just because you are frustrated by a few losses. That's crazy! (take that part literally).

You didn't even refute his statement of Zach being a Rec Leaguer... you added onto it. Lol.

But also, if I gave you his stats and you didn't know who it was, you'd think that player was playing well, not struggling.

I think we want him to be PF in order for us to fit both Nurk and Zach, but I really see a C in Zach. Especially the way NBA is going, he would be better at C.

I respect your right to have an opinion. There is a theory that conflict may sometimes be a substitute for intimacy. That doesn't appeal to me.

Depends on what stats you gave me. Give me the Stats from his last 5-6 games and Id determine he’s struggling...
Edit: Also I didnt refute his statement because it was obviously hyperbole...
