Fine with me.
At least it isn't running up the debt even more.
Keen eye!

“The 2017 American Liberty 225th Anniversary Gold Coin is the first in a series of 24-karat gold coins that will feature designs which depict an allegorical Liberty in a variety of contemporary forms-including designs representing Asian-Americans, Hispanic-Americans, and Indian-Americans among others-to reflect the cultural and ethnic diversity of the United States,” reads a press release from the Mint.
uh....it say's "including designs portraying minorities...not exclusively...not like we have zero coins with Caucasian features eh?Wow! Everyone except the most numerous.

They didn't....but one black woman gets a nod and you feel left out?Well if your mission is to reflect the cultural and ethnic diversity of the United States, how do you leave out the most numerous?
you feel left out?
I pasted that from a news feed from the US Mint about the coin.....read it and you'll see the ridiculousness of saying I'm on a high horse.....Liberty Coins celebrating 225 years of diversity and you bitch about a black woman represented.....then say the majority of the population are getting ignored...who's on a high horse? We have commemorative coins featuring birds....ships....buffalos...lots of imagery. Look up Liberty coins and see how many of them are white folk.....it's not even close..Get off your fuck high horse. It is what you posted.
you bitch about a blac
Damn, if only white people were represented on coins..or bills..or most tv shows, movies, songs and broadcasters.

Great idea, except for the part about making her an “allegorical figure”, I would much rather honor a real black woman. (If “black” is still the PC term to use? Not trying to offend, just can’t keep up with the latest PC terms that change so quickly)
Honoring a real person on a coin or bill is an excellent way to expose our kids to our history. I am sure we have plenty of black women in our history that made an impact, and could be honored.
Instead of building on our own traditions, we appear to be removing the ones we had.
That might be the hat you stuck a feather in and called it Macaroni, back in the day.OMG, this one has Lady Liberty wearing a Muslim turban, it's so offensive look how sickly the eagle looks. :MARIS61:

And yes, it's called the Turban Head eagle.

I am not getting many "like"s today. Being obtuse is not going to get you many either.![]()

You sure that's not something from Robin Hood (the Disney cartoon movie at least)?
Lady Liberty was not a Merry Man, dammit!
Oh!What are you talking about, being obtuse is the only way I get likes!

The term African American is offensive. There's not a black person on the planet that will be offended if you say black. That is what we want to be called. Yes, I will go ahead and speak for my entire race on this one.
Offensive? Not sure I completely agree with that due to this form, however the US Census form does affirm your notation for the group "black" is an applicable choice. Interesting they don't break out the white race types like they do the black ones. Perhaps it should? Or are African Americans and Negros black? And thus should squish that grouping to just "black"?

Eventually, they wont even put race or gender if the crazies have their way. Everyone will identify as whatever they want. lol.
I think this is stupid. You can just see people getting together in a board room saying, "Hey, let's put a black person on a coin, oh and we can have it be a woman to boot". What's next, a Caitlyn Jenner coin so we can have a transgender person on a coin? Fuck this shit, seriously.
If they really wanted to have a black person on a coin, why not put Barak Obama on there? At least there would be a legit reason since he was a PRESIDENT.
