Lakers got Davis.

They obviously didn’t know it would be the 4th pick at the time, but yes, that’s what was reported.

But once again, neither party knew it would be the 4th.

Maybe it wouldn't have been the 4th in that case

It wouldn't have been the 4th if they're traded him at the all star break. Davis/Lebron would have jumped up in the standings

correct. So lakers preserve their cap space to sign KEMBA OR KYRIE

I wish I could find that thread with everything telling me how dumb I was hahaha

Kryie easy...he wants to reunite with Lebron.

Probably Kemba, I think Irving is Brooklyn bound.

I feel the worst for the pelicans. They literally had the Lakers offer the farm and rejected it thinking they could somehow offer more in the summer and that “they wouldn’t offer less.”

I have no clue why people are praising this deal when the one they rejected is... wayyyyyy better

That is an assumption given that they would’ve traded every player on their team.

It would’ve been an injured LeBron, an injured AD and... Rondo and who??

No Lonzo
No Kuzma
No Hart
No Ingram
No Zubic
No KCP

I’d argue they would’ve been worse.

They would have signed guys to fill those spots. Carmelo....maybe Kanter would have gone there...

I wonder where Jrue gets traded to. If I had to guess it’s gonna be a bidding war with the Suns, Pistons, and Magic.

Lakers are contenders. Don't fool yourselves. All Davis and Lebron need are a couple of mid level vets. Lebron will average a double-double, close to a triple double. AD will average a double-double. Get a guy like Reddick or even Seth Curry(Whom i hope we keep) and i bet they get Butler as well. Lakers will be top two teams in the West next year. No doubt in my mind.

I think they want to pair Jrue with Lonzo.

Griffin supposedly likes Jrue’s offball skillset, thinks he is a great compliment to Lonzo.

*supposedly*

Of course they are contenders.

Who says they aren’t?

Let’s pump those breaks a bit... they have two top 5 guys but one is aging and one can’t play a whole season. Let’s see what happens, they’re a playoff team but I wouldn’t crown them class of the west.

That’s an excellent deal for Pelicans. I think Ball and Ingram will be great for them, and they will probably flip that 4th pick for more value.

To be fair, golden state, i believe, isnt small market. Its san francisco/oakland. Any area with a football team (or two, for that matter) isnt a small market.
Of course Golden State isn't in a small market, and neither is Toronto. But Cleveland and San Antonio are small markets.

The Lakers now have the duo we will have the worst time guarding. Assuming they run LeBron and AD at 4/5.

Yeah, i didn't crown them. I said they'd be top two in the West. We can revisit later. i don't like it. They are going all in for winning now and they will win. Will it be enough? Who knows. i hate the Lakers
