Lakers got Davis.

I remember being a little disappointed when we didn't get Carmelo.
That worked out ok.
Blazers will be just fine without Davis.
I like the voodoo doll thing. That was good.

That was my argument when I thought Simons would be a better choice for NO than CJ.
Why add a vet and his salary if you are New Orleans? But who would you rather have Simons and Collins or Lonzo and Ingram? Maybe the are high on the #4
But I thought we could have made a similar offer with ending contracts.

We obviously don't know what was offered. I would really like to see Ball and Zion in a hard push offense. Could be interesting. But, yes, thinking of team ball, I would rather have Collins and Simons. If you think Zion is the focal point of the team, then you need cold blooded 3 pt shooters and defensive big next to him, who can dunk and drain 3s.

Serious question: what was the last good trade the Lakers made? Was it Pau Gasol? (Which netted the Grizzlies Marc Gasol.)

I have to admit that when that trade went down, I was furious that Grizzly's got robbed. Just goes to show that most front offices know more than we do. Just hoping AD and King James chemistry looks less like alchemy and more like the stuff that makes toilet water blue.

I really think age is going to start to show on LeBron this coming season. Even more than last, I mean. And as you get older, injuries get more likely and more dangerous.

Let's remember: they're combining the best players of two teams that failed to make the playoffs, minus a lot of players who were very instrumental in the wins they did manage.

I love that the Lakers have now vanished Dwight Howard from their history.

Not a good trade for New Orleans. They didn't get Kuzma and have to take Ball. Plus Randle will probably out and Join LA.
If he plays enough, Ball might lead the NBA is assists playing with Zion. Definitely ally oop dimes.

I cannot understand how people could feel this way.
Ok they got a PG who cant shoot.
The number 4 pick in a class that has only 2 top end guys at least predraft ratings and all that, theres always a guy or two that surprise, but this years #4 isnt worth as much as it would be in other draft years.
Brandon Ingram is probably the best player the Pelicans got (or will get) and his health is a major issue.
Then some picks that if AD can LAL can get anyone else around his age to come on and play with him sure wont be lottery picks.
So they traded the best player their franchise has ever had and the best player they got out of it Brandon Ingram... I mean theres a small chance that LAL ends up sucking at some point with one of those unprotected picks, but not a very high chance, because unfortunately LA now has two stars and the money to go get a third.

If I’m the Lakers, I don’t go for a third MAX guy. I get a couple mid level quality players to fill that roster. Who’s even on their team anymore?

Besides AD and LeBron, under contract next season are:

Kyle Kuzma
Moritz Wagner
Isaac Bonga
Jemerrio Jones (non-guaranteed)

That's it. 5 maybe 6 (if you count Jones) guys under contract so they have up to 10 spots to fill.

Ouch!!!!!

It’s apples and oranges. If Lillard had publically demanded a trade and sat out virtually the whole season prior? Yes. I’d be happy.
I wouldnt, not even a shred, he could demand a trade and sit out two years and thats a bad deal. They choose quantity over quality, they got a lot of stuff, but none of its very good.

If we don't learn about other offers we cannot really judge if the return was good or not. From what I've read Clippers never included Shai and Celtics never included Tatum. The return seems ok. Although I don't really like Ingram and Lonzo and I also see 0 fit with Zion I'd take those and no.4 pick over CJ. Maybe CJ and his 25M are not that great of an asset for a team that is not already good and it's not they could easily trade him away because good teams don't have much cap space or assets they would trade for him.
