Not many teams with more than the tax payer MLE left. And those that do either suck or their top players are still on rookie deals (Philly).Lakers renouncing a quality player....and we can't do anything about it.
Thanks Neil.
Handle and pass I'll give to you, but he hasn't shot or defended at even a below average level at any point in his career.
IQ and length limit him. Only has value in a switching scheme. Never has posted a positive DPRM.Maybe not a good 3pt shooter but 57.5 % is not bad from 2 point range.
The Lakers played a scrambling type of defense last year. Not sure how you can tell about his D. But I tell you from watching many of their games (I take pleasure in watching them lose) his D is at least average.
Like allwaysOff to Pelicans. 2yrs 18 mil.
Ugh. Every team in the west has gotten better except for us

So if they lose Cousins because of this they got better? They are now hard capped so they might not be able to re-sign him.Off to Pelicans. 2yrs 18 mil.

1) Olshey obviously thinks there is some untapped potential there and that he could be better than Connaughton was last year. He was signed to a minimum deal.OK, thanks. I'm still a little confused on something. If we didn't sign Davis to save $$$,
1) Why sign Stauskas?
2) Why not renounce Layman?
3) What is the minimum number of players is required for a roster?
4) If we didn't sign Stauskas and renounced Layman, surely we'd be in a better situation, right?

2) Layman also still has some untapped potential. If he can ever get his shot to fall consistently he can create a little bit and is a decent defender. He was also on his rookie deal so dirt cheap.
3) 14 players are required on the roster. If they get hard capped they can't go over the tax apron of ($129 million) so they wouldn't be allowed to get to that number without first having 14 guaranteed contracts on the roster.
4) It depends on what you mean by situation. Signing Stauskas and keeping Layman did nothing to change the other avenues available (neither would Davis except it would've taken another roster spot).
Cousins and Rondo for Elfrid Payton and Julius Randle.HMM not sure they got better by losing their starting pG. Rondo and Holiday played great together. Who are they replacing him with?

You guys may think I'm crazy......but I got a source in the bay that is saying Cousins is signing with the Warriors! Crazy as it sounds, this guy is always right on. You guys say I never share my info, well let's see how this turns out! #FAMSBombThat is a lot less scarier.....We do not match well against either Rondo or Cousins. I wonder where Boogie is going.
