of All time favorite Blazers.

Lamacus has been my favorite Active Blazer since he joined the team and now is about to enter
the territory of Sabas and Walton. It is a pleasure to watch him work his way to the top.

Terry Stotts? Well it's joy to watch his team work, it's joy to watch the man coach. It's joy to be able to say things like this after the years of poor coaching.

Dr. Jack has been my man for years, but we have a new coach in Portland that knows the game and his players make it apparent.

Never once have I seen someone post a Blazer related post in the OT section. LMAO! Usually its the other way around, where the mods have to move to OT.

MODS, please move to ON TOPIC!

Thank you mags. I screwed it up again.

If LaMarcus stays here on his next contract, he could very well be the #1 Blazer of all time. Pretty crazy.

I agree. I think he can surpass even Drexler with points. Isn't he almost the highest in rebounds now?

At his current rate (~1600 points per season), he will surpass Clyde 5 years from now.

He'll be second in points next season (only a few hundred points away from Terry). He'll be second in rebounding next season. He's already second in FG made and attempted. Don't look now, but he's probably going to be Mr Blazer for an entire generation.

And he's doing all this while being only 7th in Games Played. That's pretty damn amazing.

Another tidbit: Damian is already 9th in 3 pointers attempted and made. In two years, he, Nic, and Wessy will all be vying for the #1 position.

Guys, I'm as excited as anyone right now, but let's finish off this series first

Well, these things happen whether we win the championship this season or not. :ghoti:

Trust me, all this love for Stotts and LA would cease immediately if we went on to lose the next four games. I'm not saying that's going to happen, but we've only played two games. I think Stotts has been masterful to this point, and LA has been insane, but there's still a lot of basketball left to be played in this series.

Yes but, this conversation I'm having about LA and his ranking in the pantheon doesn't really care about the playoffs.

You're right, I think I'm talking more about Stotts. If we somehow choked away the rest of the series, I think the love would be a little less apparent.

If he becomes Nate, I'll turn on him like a rabid hound.

Re: Lamarcu Aldridge and Stotts are both about to the ranks

Clyde will always be my fav Blazer but Lamarcus is definitely my fav current Blazer. I like that he GETS IT. Most Blazers just don't get
what it means to be a Blazer. I think that Lamarcus does. I wouldn't even blame him if he wanted to move on. Although I can't see
where he'd be in a better situation. Stotts is just a good coach, plain and simple. He's a good X's and O's, not great, but what makes
him good is he gets the most out of his players.

Re: Lamarcu Aldridge and Stotts are both about to the ranks

Being a Blazer is like being a college player at a mid-major school with a RABID fanbase. A lot of pros don't like the college town feel of Portland, or the "college team" feel of the Blazers.

I think a lot of fans would. That's really my point. I think he's done an amazing job so far. It's so much fun to be on the other side of a coaching beatdown, but I'm just saying there's a lot of basketball left to play.

Re: Lamarcu Aldridge and Stotts are both about to the ranks

Agree Marzy.

I'm proud of LA and Stotts has an incredibly bright basketball mind.

Good to see you excited about this team again.

Very well said!

Somebody should bump the thread when Stotts was hired. There was outrage.

Didn't we have a thread about rankings of all time Blazer stats? Would love to see and updated list.

He's proven me wrong. I wasn't outraged, but I was disappointed. In fact, I thought his title in reality was "Interim".

Like this team, he has shown me to be a fool with my pessimistic prognostications. If I ever meet him, I plan to apologize to him and also to compliment him for wearing the plaid jacket on Dr. Jack's birthday. That was the day he won me over.

The fact that Stotts went to the Dr Jack plaid jacket and huge collar shirt on Dr Jack's b-day won me over.

As I recall, when Stotts was hired, a lot of people thought he'd be fine for the rebuild, but we'd need a different coach when we were ready to make a playoff run. I never agreed or really disagreed; I just figured I'd wait and see. He actually won me over bit by bit during the season, as I saw growth in the team and certain players, and I defended him even as some people blasted him for his changing backup rotations. I guess you'd say I remained optimistic he knew what he was doing. I think Stotts and his staff are steady, smart and calculating. They know what they are doing. Right now, I'm thinking Stotts is just fine to coach us through the playoffs, and I seriously doubt we could have found better. Especially for this group of players.

Stotts has made me eat some crow from earlier in the season (Yes, KS). But, it is only 2 games. I'm with nate... lets win this series first before anointing so quickly.

All that said, I'm jacked!! I want this win tonight. Leave no doubt!

I love LaMarcus, but I love Lillard just as much. He's the one that's put us over the top. We haven't had a great point guard since TP.

Just as there was outrage when the Blazers traded for Robin Lopez and spent their money on seemingly non needle moving players.

Neil has made a career as Blazer GM dumbing us.
