I think it's safe to say that Lebron and the Brow will take two of the three frontcourt spots on the All-NBA first team. But with all the games missed by Durant and Griffin, the third slot is up for grabs, and Aldridge has a decent shot at it. If he can get it, I believe he'll be just the third Blazer (after Walton and Drexler) to make the first team.

By my estimation, the top contenders for that final first team spot are LA, Boogie, the Hawks, and the Gasols. Here's a BBRef comparison of the six. Based on their individual and team play so far, who do you think is the most likely to join Lebron and Davis on the first team?

Has the All-NBA voting changed? I know All Star voting has, but last year All-NBA was still two forwards and one center. If that's the case, LaMarcus would need to beat out LeBron or Anthony Davis for one of the two forward spots.

Are the votes happening before or after the playoffs?

I presume that the voting is before the playoffs. They're usually released at the beginning of June, so certainly not after the playoffs.

Davis could be considered a center. It wouldn't be the first time the voters fudged the positions a bit. Duncan, for instance, has been put in as a forward most years, but was voted in as a center in 2013.

Hmmmm. I guess my vote for Aldridge may not stick. Unless we somehow get the second or first seed. I think the NBA darling is still Davis and most likely Gasol. Boogie definitely deserves consideration, but it's all in a losing effort. Aldridge has a shot, but he needs to finish on pace since the injury. Any drop off would most likely take him out of contention

I hope they announce it before the playoffs.

I like "Chip on His Shoulder" Aldridge.

Calling Davis a center this season would be a huge stretch. Asik starts at center and plays many more minutes at center than Davis. According to 82games.com, Duncan played 52% of his teams minutes at the center position during the 2012-13 season. Davis is only playing 28% of NOP's minutes at center this year, with Asik playing 47% of their center minutes.

To be honest, I think Aldridge doesn't need a chip anymore. He just looks so confident out there. He's calling for the ball and doesn't even hesitate ever, even when his shots aren't falling.

When I realized that he hasn't taken it personal is when he was interviewed after he was voted in by the coaches for the All star game. He admitted that his game is boring and fans wouldn't vote for him, but he acted like it really didn't bother him.

I truly believe that Aldridge believes he's the best player on the court. That's a good thing!
