Congrats on a good career LA. But what might have been if you had just stayed in rip city to see it through. Grass wasn't greener, AT ALL. I know, he took the deal to be closer to his child. Admirable. But with wealth, the OP to spend half the year near his child is better than most regular Joes get in a similar situation. He could have trained there , lived there in offseason. Played here. Had child visit during season.

I know it's not done much or at all in the NBA like NFL and MLB or at least I cannot remember the last time it happened BUT ...

Blazers need to give him a deal next year 1 day or whatever so he can retire a Blazer that would be the right and cool thing to do for him.

I like this! We sign him for a day and then trade him so we finally get something for him.

I wonder if the cautionary tale of LMA is part of what motivates Lillard to be a loyal Blazer? Just think of all the damage those two could have done together. They would have both had solid claims on best Blazers ever and LMA would be forever beloved by our fans.

Had some good years. Excellent elbow jumper. But I was never a huge fan. He was so soft, both in play and mentally.

Probably my least favorite Blazer on the top 5 Blazers list.

My biggest disappointment was his defense. He was drafted for his defense. He had the tools to be one of the best defenders in the league. He was lazy.

Yeah, I know Dame wants us to but I really don't want us to do anything special for LaMarcus. The dude fucked us... Olshey should have seen it coming and traded him but LaMarcus was acting like staying was a possibility until the season was over. Besides that I don't want his jersey retired because I don't want any of the stink from what could have been from the BRoy, LMA, GO big three hanging around.

So congrats on a good but not great career Mr. Aldridge, hope I won't be seeing you.

I’m so fucking tired of explaining this “Olshey should have seen it coming” Mother fucking Olshey not only saw it coming, but was told BY LAMARCUS that he wanted out. Aldridge did NOTHING wrong

Kim Hughes told Olshey too. Olshey was an idiot.

Bullshit. He walked away from us, and screwed us in the process (telling us he would re-sign).

I don't ever want him in the Rose Garden again. Good riddance.

You are missing the main detail that he told Olshey a year prior. The organization KNEW he was not resigning
I have heard differently. I heard that previously he said he wanted to explore it. He came back and then said he would re-sign. He bailed on us and then told the team he said what he did because he didn't want to be traded for half a season and then sign with another team.

We had offers for him on which we passed. Olshey was crap at his job, but not that bad.

Get over it is what I think because he was a very good player for the Blazers and deserves that honor IF he and the Blazers want it but I kind of doubt it happens since this franchise is kind of messy right now so kind of a mute point.

He deserves NO Blazers honor. He showed us none. He had none. He quit on the team DURING the playoffs. He could have stayed and if he had he coulda been a contenduh. Instead he left us high and dry. Yes, I blame Olshey for not trading him. It was known he wanted to leave. Maybe Olshey thought he could get him to stay, as Maxie said. But that was a fools errand. Good riddance to both of them.

The Blazers squeezed everything they could out of LaMarcus Aldridge. By the time he bailed out to San Antonio, he was half the man he used to be.

He wanted out, rather than staying in the best situation for himself and the team who drafted him.

Fuck him.

LMA was part of a BIG3 that never was. Not The Man compared to BRoy. Then Oden got the attention. Then back to BRoy … then Lillard …

One negative of him was his reportedly being high maintenance. So when there was smoke of his leaving from some who knew him … but he wanted to be the best Blazer ever … but he wanted to get to free agency … but he wanted to be a Blazer … and then he looked at frigging Phoenix more than Portland???

Olshey screwed up. LMA went back and forth and did screw the Blazers a bit. Plenty of blame on this one.
He had game, and I would’ve been happy to see him return as a Blazer years ago. Years. It’s not what he wanted, so his Portland legacy is lesser than expected.
Lesser to Lucas and Rasheed. Around Buck. B.Grant. Cliff Robinson.
His skills were up there, his exit … on him.
