A sense of humor is a beautiful thing.

True. There are many types of humor. I guess High School is too much of a distant memory for me to think stupid nick names is funny. IMHO...... it is just plain boorish.

Okie Dokie.

Wow, you are so above us

LaMarshmellow seems to sum it up the best.

I've always liked "LaMarshmallow" the best as a funny nickname, although I don't call him that. I think LaMarcus is a damn fine player and the Blazers are lucky to have him. Who else would we be better off with from that draft? I agree he needs to get a stronger post game, but put the right players around him and he is gold.

I tend to agree with most of what you wrote. I do have one minor quibble, I think if you surround him with the right players he's probably bronze, maybe silver at best.

In the old days, someone would have proposed Lavender or Lady, but I'm not going there so I won't mention it. Similarly, Lardbutt and LampshadeWouldBeMoreUseful are beneath me. How about something dignified that I would say to his face, like LawOfDiminishingReturns?

How about Man. Because that what he is compared to some of you couch geeks who somehow feel better when they belittle some of the greatest athletes in the world with childish little nick names. Either come up with a name that you can call him to his face or go back to your mothers basement and pretend you once knew how to play ball other than one of your computer games.
Yeah, that "Jack the Ripper" thing was an outrage!! No one would dare call the guy that to his face, right?

Yeah Baby!

Sorry guys but there's some funny shit in this thread.

GO LA!

Go Blazers

MWUAHAHA! glade I never posted my own thoughts that LaMarcus Aldridge was a soft player until the recent season on a consistent basis. ...wait a minute :ohno:

What an amazing improvement in LA's game in such a short period of time. Seriously, I don't think there's a PF in the game that I'd trade him for right now.

I have a coworker who still insists on calling him LaMargaret or LaMarginal. I'm trying to direct him toward LaMarvelous or LaMarkable, but the dude won't budge.

This guy had it right. Maybe I'll take him off ignore. :)

LaMarcus = LaMonster. 'Nuff said.

Simple answer: punch him in the dick. He'll come around after the second time.

I don't want to sound imodest, but because I started this thread, I'm going to take full credit for LMA turning his career around from "soft, fade-away jumpshooter" to "stud inside and out NBA big man." Without this thread I'm sure he never does the work in the off-season with Bill Bayno to finally earn that uppercase 'M' in LaMarcus this year.

So if we start calling him LaMixum he'll become the greatest player ever?
