LaMichael James suffers arm injury vs. Cal Bears

I shudder every time I watch that. I need to stop.

I can't watch it. I just pray it's a dislocation and not a break. Son of a bee sting; we didn't need him at that point of the game. Just bad luck.

I didn't see any bones sticking out.... that could be a good thing, right? It's a weird camera angle so it's hard to see exactly how he bent it, but it definitely doesn't look good. I just hope that Chip is honest about this one. I want to know if he's done for the year.

Still hopeful and guessing bad hyperextension or dislocation. It's nearly 45 min post injury and ESPN is still reporting he's in Duck's facilities and not rushed to hospital. He was in pain but it didn't seem he was in major break kind of pain. I'm hopeful.

Looks like a dislocation to me. Hopefully he'll only miss 2 or 3 games.

I don't know... he was writhing on the ground in pain.

I wish the refs would blow the play dead earlier when a player loses his helmet like that. I was more worried about James losing his helmet and then I noticed he was holding his arm.

Yah, don't know either, but hoping for the best. Looked terribly painful but I'm talking moments after.

This pic at Oregon Live....I dunno....just don't know. Great kid. Get back, LMJ. You're one in a million.

Yeah that pic does not look good. My first impression was a break and I still it will probably end up being a break. Hopefully it's nothing that puts his career in jeopardy.

Whatever that is it's pretty ugly. I hope he's going to be okay.

Yeah those are the bones I was looking for. I think it's a major break. I think he'll be out the rest of the year. I wonder if he'll come back for his senior season...

Damn, it looks like his bone in his upper arm totally snapped snapped from the elbow. I don't know if he could possibly come back with a heavy duty brace in a few weeks. He'd be limited in what he could do.

Really sucks. I hope somehow he can be back for the Stanford game, but that is one ugly injury.

NOTHING BROKEN!

Dang, I hope this is true. "No break" doesn't mean "no surgery".....he could still have snapped ligaments and gawd knows what else.....but at least there is some hope he isn't done for the year. (or worse)

His elbow is severly dislocated though, look how it's totally separated from the bone in that pic. The announcers said some players have been able to return in as little as 10 days with a brace....but that injury looks really nasty.

SO THANKFUL AND HAPPY FOR LMJ.

HE'S GOT A FEW WEEKS TO GEAR UP FOR STANFORD!!!

I told ya'll it didn't appear like a break and looked like a dislo/hyper. So happy for LMJ right now.

UPDATE (10:44 p.m.): James adamantly stated after the game that this was not a season-ending injury. He said X-rays revealed no broken bones, but that James suffered a dislocated elbow that he popped back into place himself before receiving medical treatment.

James said he suffered a similar injury in high school a week later, but seemed doubtful that he'll be able to bounce back from this one quite as quickly.

Ah, the emotional rollercoaster that is Duck football.

James will be live on 750 The Game coming up.

How long is the rehab on muscles surrounding something like that?

GREAT NEWS though.

he fails to mention that Stanford has yet t prove themselves against any good opp and they looked completely beatable vs ucla. Oregon controls their destiny. LMJ is a warrior and I suspect we'll see him attack more 200 yard games this season.

I'm gonna hold off my happiness till I hear no ligament damage. I remember being made to feel Dixon was ok after the asu game. Glad he is in good spirit though.
