A solid hundred from Colin Ingram, an enchanting fifty from Hashim Amla and a twinkling finish from JP Duminy ensured South Africa made good use of Johan Botha winning the toss in the second ODI at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium. Good death work from Wahab Riaz reeled them back a little, though 287 is still an imposing chase.
Ingram's second ODI century was an old-school effort. The start was edgy, even if among it was a classy punch through midwicket. But once he jumped down the track and lofted Abdul Razzaq down the ground, nerves were being shed.
Thereafter, as the middle overs begun, singles and doubles rolled by and so incongruously did he go about it that his fifty, at the halfway mark, was a surprise. He never fully got hold of the spinners but neither did they really trouble him. There was a missed stumping, but a ball previous, he had driven solidly through covers.
