Lanny's passed - Funeral Information Update

I really hope Lanny's wife is doing as well as possible. In one of his last posts he wrote about how he was worried about her being without him after them having each other for so long.

Lanny was already a legend when I started posting on OLive decades ago, he had also already run into some health problems. I'm really sad that everyone who got to experience his brilliant personality has to be without him now but I'm also a little relieved that he can stop suffering both from the health problems and the stress that they obviously caused him. That being said, it's a sad day to be a Blazers fan, we lost one of if not the best of us.

unfortunately the will can recede to nothing. Its sad but beautiful.
My great grandparents married are 22 and 20. Married for over 60 years. He was in perfect health and still on the bowling league when she passed. He passed less than a month later due to a broken heart.
(Written with watery eyes)

She's devastated. Mrs SPD and I are going over to see her later today.

Please bring love from all of us! Having a few private email exchanges and meeting him, this is such a saaaad day….

Lanny left us behind a treasure trove of posts to read again when we bump threads 10 years later to make a random comment relevant to today. He will be missed.

Rest In Peace to the OG

I'll be looking back at his posts for a long time coming.

I'm hoping Lanny was able to see the red wave fail to materialize. I know that would have made him happy. I won't bring any more politics up here. I just know that would have meant something to the man.

RIP Lanny. I never met you, but I admired your fandom and love of the Blazers from afar. Always sad to see the best of us go before us. :-(

On that note, I for one would love to see our OT section named after him... i.e. Lanny's OT Forum. It would be a nice lasting tribute to him, and a way to keep him in front of us everyday.

RIP to a legend. Not all heroes wear capes. Thank you for brightening peoples lives, good sir. You will not be forgotten. Thank you for all you've done. Thank you for being you. We're so lucky and fortunate to have met you.

Sly, let us know if there's anything we can do for his wife and family. Let us know how we can help anyone affected by this.

If it were possible, I'd love for the entire forum to be named after Lanny somehow.

A Special Memories logo on the opening forum page called Lanny's lane could suffice..

Wow, most unfortunate. I saw him posting just late last week or over the weekend, knew he was in bad shape, but didn't expect it to be so soon. Best wishes to his widow, it's never easy losing someone you love, I lost my dad back in 2010 and I still think of him and have very fond memories of him to this day. Rest in peace OG, the forum won't be the same without you old man!
