Should mention that the 1st being protected prevents us from including any future firsts in other (*cough* CJ *cough*) deals, excepting "first available" language, which also makes pick-swap inclusion incredibly difficult.
 
I wonder what kinda contract Lauri got. Tons of S&Ts this year, I thought the rules had made this sorta thing near impossible, but CHI alone is involved in multiple.
 
This is our best acquisition since RoCo. Really genuinely exciting! What is this strange, unfamiliar feeling? Could it be...optimism?

Gotta think that's the last "tinkering" trade - we have literally no disposable contracts left (and I REALLY don't want us giving up any more picks). If there are any significant trades after this, they'll be "blow up the team" trades. So we're going to run with CJ + Dame for at least the first half of the season, folks.

Yep. I mean, it is a good fit. But with that detail it feels like this is pretty much it going into next season. I like that Olshey made a calculated move but he better hope this puts us in the top 4 teams in the West. I'm still not convinced that it does.

dollar store draymond. These guys are not close in terms of talent or impact, come on now. But we did get him for just a first haha.
 
This absolutely fills a position of need. And means I don't have to watch DJJ in a Blazers uniform again. It's not moving us into contender status, but it's a positive move.

it will be tricky but not impossible, just need to compensate to remove protections, etc. Hell, we'll prolly convey it to CHI next June anyway.

How does that make anything I said untrue?
Besides, I'd guess closer to 30, just because he can have all the minutes at 4 and 5 that don't go to Nurk or RoCo. There's literally NOBODY ELSE.
 
I really like this trade for the Blazers -- tad concerned over his injury history tends to get a little nicked up but I would give this trade AS of now -- B +

I wish Jones the best in Chicago but I think the fact the Blazers picked up 2 cheap SG/SF type players this kind of signaled the end of Jones in PDX
