LaSalle Thompson is a candidate to join the New York Knicks as an assistant coach.
Thompson would replace Kenny Atkins, who left the Knicks last month for the Atlanta Hawks.
Thompson coached under Larry Brown with the Charlotte Bobcats and worked with Tyson Chandler.
Thompson and Mike Woodson were teammates with the Kansas City Kings.
