Okay, I'll bite. What is it?
A site that will record each track you play (via a plugin). With that database of all the music you listen to, it can create charts of what you play the most and recommend other artists that match your (evolving) musical profile.
It also functions as a community, with groups that have message boards. Plus each artist, album and song has its own "message board" for people to leave comments.
Interesting. Unfortunately for me, I listen to much of my music via CD or record albums (yep, it's true). I have a fair amount (1,200-1,500 albums) on my hard drive, so it might be worth checking out. Thanks for the head's up.
this is pretty cool. I always used the site for finding similar artists but I never realized it was so much more.

I'm not convinced as to how accurate the history is though, I swear I haven't been listening to that much frenchie music.
Hey, you listen to Air France too! You're the first person I've met, real life or online, that also listens to them without my having introduced the band.
How exciting...!
errr.... hate to break it to you, but I believe the only reason I know the band is because you made a "best albums" sort of list and I liked them. so thanks for the recommendation, but it seems your search continues...
Ha. Okay. I hope you didn't think they were French. Their name is blatant false advertising. They're Balearic dance influenced Swedes.
1. Air France - No Way Down : Air France is a Swedish group that combines Balearic dance, pop and atmospherics into an incredibly evocative and gorgeous group of songs. A couple of years ago, they released an EP called On Trade Winds, which was perhaps the best EP I've ever heard. This album is only a bit longer, nearly as fantastic. It's swirling and dreamy yet still has a strong connection to dance music.
