And lol @ those who say Swift has a jumpshot.</div>

lol at least ive seen him score on two jumpshots the 2 minutes and 23 seconds ive seen swift play. hmmm lets think of the last time collins scored on a jumpshot

I think it'd be wise to keep in mind that Swift isn't a horrible player, but what he brings to the table (or doesn't) doesn't make him an optimal fit here. He's quick getting to the basket, but that is rarely used because there are other, more favorable options, available. What Swift really needs to bring is a dedication to defense, and rebounding. Too often Swift is compared to Collins as to whom is the overall better player, but I think we should be focusing on what the team needs from each person instead. So while Swift may be "better" in the sense he'd beat Jason Collins in a game of 1 on 1, a lot of his improvements should be made moot, because that's not what the Nets need out of him. Collins on the other hand was a better post defender, and boxed out (watch Stro and Sean, who just watch the shot in mid air and don't fight for position until it hits the rim), but some of his ineptitudes (offense, FT shooting) made him a liability, too. So in the context of the New Jersey Nets I think Stromile Swift is better at basketball at Jason Collins, yet there is no large overall improvement to this team post-trade.

Oh wow! Like Collins' was asked to be a scorer!
Oh my God, and you are right! Hitting two consecutive jumpshots even after bricking most of the others definitely says he has a jumpshot! OMG!

I feel like I've done this before.

10/32, 31% from the outside.
13/38, 34% from a little closer in, either in the paint or close to the paint.
For argument's sake, 90/146 62% right around the rim.

Doesn't sound like that great of a jumpshot to me.

Look it up for yourself.

fine, you could all ride collins and go to memphis, pray and shout his name to call him back so he could give us that beautiful defence that he gave to the nets.

GO COLLINS !

*waiting for stats*

So you are saying Stro's problem is that he has never been used correctly in his NBA career?

his biggest problem throughout his career is that he's not agressive enough. but it would be nice if he could finally get on a team where the coach would put him in a position to succeed, you know, get him the ball in the post, set him up for lobs, use him in pick and rolls, etc. i would like to see what he could do if he were put in josh boone's roll where people are actually looking to pass to him around the rim. i think he'd do well since all he would have to do is dunk, we all know he can do that.
