C'mon man. You don't become the Commissioner of the NBA with "No Spine". You might not agree with the way he runs things but I assure you he is a man that weighs everything out appropriately.
one might argue that david stern would ban him for a season after the first gun incident, let alone the second

compared to david stern, he has no spine, he wants to be a nice guy, hes soft

They’ve generally played well without Ja. Bane and JJJ are All Star level players.
The Grizzlies are looking for exactly the same players Portland wants to get. They need a better backup Center in case Steven Adams misses time. They will also need 2-way Forwards at the wing, due to Dillon's meltdown and the unfortunate achilles injury to Brandon Clarke.

Ja's ~15 game suspension ain't no biggie, if Memphis can clean up the free agent market, the Grizzlies will once again be a really tough opponent.

Seems like a big IF. The FA market is not that great this year for 2-way forwards, and I am not sure many want to join that team

So you're just going to parrot what Stephen A Smith says?

how can anybody predict the length of suspension without knowing what it is the league knows?

smuggling a gun on a plane is actually a felony. So is pointing a gun at people in many circumstances. So is threatening people with a gun. What if Ja did all three things?

I'd be kind of surprised if the NBA held off announcing the punishment if it was only a 20-25 game suspension

A 20-25 gamer? More than $8 million for 20 and more than $10 million for 25. Real money.

if what Ja did is serious, as in potential felonies, I don't think the NBA will make any calculations for lost pay, or at least, if they do, those calculations will be a minor part of the penalty.

it may end up as 10-15 games for all I know. But if there was a betting line I'd think the smart money would start at 41 games and go up from there

If Morant's suspension is >17 games he is automatically disqualified from any awards due to the new rule of min 65 games played to be considered.

My prediction is 41

That would severely hurt the Grizzlies playoff chances.
They're already not a great playoff team.
Probably hurt their seeding more than their playoff chances. Memphis has been the #2 seed the last two seasons.

I heard one commentator say no player who was not arrested ever has served a suspension of longer then 30 games. I have not checked that fact, just what I heard. I would expect it to be around 25-30 games.

Were Arenas and Crittenton arrested after their gun stuff?

Gonna be a season IMO. The toy gun thing is ridiculous. I know he didn't break any laws. But it's a real bad look for the League. If you rob a bank with a toy gun , is it suddenly not armed robbery? It's the fact he got a second chance, promised he'd change, and made the Commish look soft as hot butter. I don't see him being soft this time. Full season

This is the first I've heard of that he had a toy gun.. Which video of him waving a piece is it supposed to be a toy? Or is it the laser thing?
