I live in a city that is 97% Hispanic and can count on one hand the number of times I've heard people use the term LatinX and every time it's been one of my far left friends. I'm not surprised in the least that it is used in Portland more than in actual Latino communities.

A good portion of Latinos don't seem to like being called Latinx. It seems like a label white people use to classify people that aren't themselves because they think they know whats best for them.

It's not, he likes to try to annoy what he perceives to be the "woke white liberals" on this forum.

As for the actual issue, some in the Latin American community (generally skewing younger) like the "Latinx" term and some (generally skewing older) don't. Many others don't care one way or the other. That's kind of typical of these sorts of changes and fine. Not everyone has to agree on this and those who prefer it can use it and those who don't, don't have to.

Asia has the world's fair share of transgendered people...as does Polynesia.....in Hawaii they are called mahu's and have been in Hawaiian society for as long as there have been people on the islands....white people didn't invent this stuff....they just promoted it like many people on the net...there are stupid white people but dude they don't have a monopoly on stupid by any stretch...it's collective stupid you should pinpoint. Besides, unless you're planning to transition yourself...does it really matter at all what people identify as? If you like rap and hiphop you shouldn't Snoop Dog sounds a bit like Slypokerdog....point being...they have to live with the name, not me! Eminem sounds way to close to enema!
