You know, Kevin Love went with a company called 360 and it failed miserably. He actually STOPPED wearing the damn shoes and switched back to NIKE WHILE he was still under contract with them. And all these guys are going with this crap Li-Ning, because they promise to create shoes for these players and they can put their names on em. NOT A GOD DAMN KID ANYWHERE would be caught wearing Li-Ning shoes. And Under Armor needs to stick to making underwear and leave the shoes to the experts. ll this crap about them taking over the shoe industry was a joke from day one. This guy Ball will realize how much money his kids will be losing by NOT wearing one of the Big Two's shoes.

Sad thing is the guy probably won't realize anything....I feel sorry for his kids..on a side note though...I don't think you realize how many Asian kids buy shoes overseas...it's a big market..Stephon Marbury is making a fortune over there. The big two here are kind of pricing themselves out of the market for most kids..when the kids grow in high school you can get stuck buying a pair of Nike's and before the season is over you have to buy bigger one's...that's a lot of scratch for most working folks in the states. I think it sucks that kids think they have to wear Nike or Adidas sports shoes at the prices they charge.

I don't think so. It's NBA related. I can tell you, I will watch every summer league and regular season game this kids plays in the next year, just rooting for him to either step up and crush in the league or sink to the bottom. Very intrigued by this story line.

My prediction for this kid is Adam Morrison ....he makes Will Barton look like a body builder...I think his legacy will be as a great college player..Nurk would snap him in half without trying in the post..he was always getting knocked down by 6 foot 9 post players in college...in the NBA his game will look very, very different would be my prediction.

Livingston can defend.

Ball has wonderful ball-handling and passing skills, but his defense is non-existent and his shooting is a concern for scouts. If he can't defend or shoot, it's going to be difficult for him in the NBA.
 
EVERY NBA player see's or has heard of the fiasco his dad has created and will want the pleasure of shutting him down every time he steps on the court. He is reportedly skipping the combine. Any guesses why? Haha, i wouldn't want my son going up against all the other draft picks after i spent all this time telling everyone that he was going to be the next Jordan/Curry.

Not uncommon for top prospects to skip the combine, but for Lonzo I can't help but feel like it will affect him differently than it will Fultz.

Going to be very interesting to see if Lonzo Ball slips on draft day, or if there's a team out there who has fully bought into the hype and he ends up going first & traded.
 
I haven't read past the first page of this thread, nor have I followed this saga....nor indeed had I ever heard of the Balls until this whole saga began.

So can someone break this down for me in a post? What started all of this? Is Lonzo a douche, or is it just his father who's a massive douche?

All I know is that his dad said something racist or something like that.

By all accounts, Lonzo keeps his mouth shut, plays hard, and is a good teammate. It's his father, who is a complete douche. To the point where if I were GM, and that if we had a top pick, I would hate to have this asshole around the team, and wouldn't draft Lonzo.

That being said, he's in their lives, so there are worse things
 
Keep microphones away and his relevance will fade away.
 
I really feel bad for his kids. Lonzo actually seems like a good kid when Ive seen him. Soft spoken, not a loudmouth like his father. Seems respectful and appreciative of where he is at so far.

Too bad his father has obviously ruled him with a thumb holding back his personality so he(Lavar) can be the loudmouth dictator and get all the attention.

At this point the best thing Lonzo can do is create separation form his father and go try to be his own man. Question is will Lavar allow that to happen, or will he insist on being by his kids' sides throughout their career, causing issues?

Can we say, over parenting issues?
Let the birds leave the nest for Christs sake. Attention whore feeding off his kids success....

The shoe game is no joke. It would be one thing if he came in selling the shoe for $90 or something. But this is ridiculous.
