Not sure what his first year salary is, but it gives us a check worth about 3 mil to acquire a player and it's good for a year. It might come in handy once free agency is basically over or near the trade deadline.

I'm kind of bummed about this. I still think Jake is going to be a really nice player when given a consistent role. That contract is really reasonable too.

I would've matched but understand given our roster situation.
