He bought a dog.Why is The HCP still allowed to make threads?
I can just see it now:Wait til my first summer league thread son!
Am I correct in saying that at this very moment, we have 6.....SIX...... players on our roster that were with us on opening night? That's some turnover fo yo ass!
Not sure how badly Olshey wanted to keep him, since he went out and got so many guys who can play his position.Neil probably wanted to keep him, but not at the expense of disgruntling a player and his agent.

What the fuck? Why? Why didnt we just resign him? Pissed

I think when Little fell to 25 the future of Jake was murky at best, wasn’t Little Neil’s 12th overall player?
I'll take, "Things you've heard from both the human females you've tried to have sex with" for $1,000 Alex.Sorry, but I can't get too excited about this either way.
If Tolliver was included, he would be a S&T which would hard-cap the Blazers.it would only be the part Portland pays...about 1.7M. The league picks up the rest. The part the counts against the cap is the part Portland pays, not the full salary
but yeah, I can't see why Portland would not want the much larger TPE as an asset
Thats not saying much... I'm not too happy with the Tolliver signing. I think there were better options availableThat's because Evan Turner was a the 4. Layman is a better option than Turner. Layman rebounded as well as Tolliver last year.
Whats D69s thoughts on Little? Hes fallen off the face of the earth....Yes, something like that. Their trade plans started changing around #20. A couple of guys at the Draft party have great connections and their phones started beeping around that time. Portland hadn't planned on Little being available. Hadn't brought him in, hadn't interviewed him and had only scouted him briefly when they were looking at other players. As it because obvious that Little might fall to them, the quickly pivoted (to their credit) and decided they would take Little regardless of the little background they had on him.
Neil said as much in his press conference after the Draft. I'd texted this to @BonesJones and it was fun to hear Olshey repeat it almost verbatim.

While Layman’s contract is fairly small, you look the market with veterans who can pretty clearly contribute getting the minimum/2-3M deals and add the daft that with the luxury tax his contract would count as pretty much double what he’s making...it didn’t make sense to keep a player who’s production is easily replaced. Give that money to another bit to help our lack of depth. You know what dumping Jake for Hezonja reminds me of? Dumping Connaughton for Stauskas. I heard so many arguments about how we were a much better spot for Stauskas than his previous spots, and how our system would make him a useful player while Pat would struggle elsewhere because our system helped him out as well.
Connaughton was great for Milwaukee last year and Stauskas' numbers here were NO BETTER than any other stop on his journey. Now Stauskas is on his way out of the league.
Somebody who couldn't see it?Who the hell changed the title of my thread!!!???

12th man? While Layman’s contract is fairly small, you look the market with veterans who can pretty clearly contribute getting the minimum/2-3M deals and add the daft that with the luxury tax his contract would count as pretty much double what he’s making...it didn’t make sense to keep a player who’s production is easily replaced. Only this forum would complain about the loss of a 12th man...give those few minutes to Little who has FAR more potential then Jake ever will and we’ll be better off for it.
Who did we replace him with?12th man?
...
Were replacing a 9th man with a 15th man.
Theres only 7 people on that list that are better than him.Dame
CJ
Bazemore
Simons
Hood
Whiteside
Little
Mario
Tolliver
Collins
Skal/Trent
That’s 11-12 that could play ahead of him and not miss much. Again...we’re arguing over a “9th-12th man” and paying him what would amount to 6M a year...only on s2 is this even a conversation. I like Jake, he’s got talent....but he’s easily replaceable.
