If by endorsing, you mean donating $20G's to a committee devoted to electing the freshman Illinois Democratic senator as president on Nov. 4.

James, an Akron native, was the No. 1 NBA draft choice in 2003 out of St. Vincent-St. Mary High School. He got $90 million for a shoe-endorsing contract with Nike before playing one minute in the NBA. So he sure must have pretty feet.

Presumably James can afford the political donation. Maybe he'll also throw in a pair of running shoes for Obama to finish the race.</div>

I'm trying to think some notable Republicans in the NBA and I can't think of many. Karl Malone obviously and Barkley years ago but is there anyone else?

I hear Spencer Hawes is a hardcore right winger.

I tend to think that most of the NBA doesn't give a sh*t about politics though. And I'd bet a lot of them promote the Republican tax cuts and oppose the Dems trying to raise taxes, especially for the rich.

Does McCain-Feingold apply to DNC and RNC donations?

McCain-Feingold does apply, but donations to the DNC and RNC have much higher limits (> $100K).

The DNC and RNC cannot use the money for the campaigns, tho.

Is this what Bob Dylan meant when he said that Obama was redefining politics from the ground up? How is this a big change from politics as usual?

I wanna hear what Lebron has to say about Obama. Surely, he's busy with basketball most of the time...but in his free time, does he look deeply into Obama? Does he try to figure out what Obama's all about, etc.?
