And im sorry but there is real racism out there real assholes doing real things to innocent people and this focus on things like this instead of the ones actually causing harm is frustrating.
Its frustrating because if one article gets enough clicks it just becomes truth and thats frustrating.
There are real life people out there just trying to get by and hand signals may help and all be damned if we should condemn them because some racists said it means they are racists and the internet has run with it like its true.

we need more free thinkers. Not internet followers. Just because a picture of some racists were taken, doesn't mean the billions of people in this world now know or concede thats what it means.

Nobody is telling you can’t use the OK sign - go ahead and keep doing it, apparently you need it while some of us have used it maybe five times since HS. The sign IS used by racists. We know when they use it - many times all together- what it means and it’s not just “hi everyone! We are just so happy to be together and all is A-ok!” Nobody flashes the OK sign for pics, or behind Trump during a speech, or when lined up with their friends wearing bullet proof jackets, for another reason other than “we are racist pieces of shit look at us”.

If you use it for sign language, then carry on. This need to go over the top to defend a normal symbol that has since been bastardized by hate groups is kinda odd, to be honest.

You call it odd which says a lot about you. All i'm doing is defending the rights of disabled people. Someone in this thread said anyone using it is racist. Then someone made it sound like someone using it is a child since we no longer use it after high school. How do you think someone disabled would feel being called a racist or insinuating they are children because they use a way they were taught to say something? A symbol that historically was completely harmless.

Come on man…. The swastika was taken for the small price of only a few million Jews and countless deaths due to a world war.

Are you really gonna compare the okay sign being thrown up by some rednecks to the holocaust?

This okay sign thing has only been going on for a few year and they would have to pull off something truly and historically terrible to even get into spitting distance of the Nazis.
