"Lefty" Bitching About Taxes

Those tax rate numbers over 50%--nobody in American history ever really paid half his income to income tax. And I doubt that anyone ever even really paid that as a marginal rate.

Find me such a taxpayer and let's examine his return. I don't believe anyone's ever been that stupid.

I'd be curious as to the cost of living in those places. Switzerland's cost of living is pretty high.

And with kids....... I can't really imagine him wanting to raise his kids in these countries. Don't get me wrong, it could be a rather cool adventure, but I don't see him doing that to his family. Sure, there are ways around it (letting someone else have legal responsibility to the children so they can stay in the US). But the intracacies of the matters and issues related to this get very complicated, there are a lot of gray areas in this, and given the publicity he brough himself by opening his mouth, he would be more heavily scrutinized to make sure he is following everything to a "t". And like I said, I'm sure the IRS will find a way to substantially tax his earnings in the US. His best move, I suppose, would simply move to another state, which some of you suggest he do. I wouldn't want to live in any of those lower-tax-rate states over SoCal, but I suppose the cost of saving money is living in a place that he perhaps finds less desirable. People make the decision to live someone less desirable in the same of saving money everyday.

Actually Switzerland does have a high cost of living. Singapore actually is a very nice country (no bigger than the county of Los Angeles). It is all modern and the people are amazingly friendly. The cost of living there is actually really good. Plus, you are literally a bridge to Malaysia; where things are about 1/10th the price of U.S.

When I was in Malaysia, I got a 3 hour massage for 20 bucks. And no, it wasn't the happy ending kind.

I've been to Hong Kong too and that place is really awesome! There is an Island that's a 1 hour boat ride that houses Vegas style casinos like Wynn, Venetian and Bellagio. The Island is called Macau. That country is abount the size of Boston. The food is cheap too.

As for the kids.... Singapore teaches English before they teach their native language. Most the children are tri-lingual, speaking English, Malay and Mandarin. Hong Kong was an English Colony, so all the schooling has English ties. In fact, the credits for college in Hong Kong is as credited as Universities in the United Kingdom.

I didn't say that people shouldn't bitch, just the opposite. Whatever floats their boat. But if you live in the US, one should start accepting the fact Obama is president. If people want to move, then they should move. But after moving and after tax shelters and after hiding money, they should pay the taxes set out by gov't or get the fuck out of the country.

Do you have any evidence to suggest that he isn't paying the taxes that he legally owes, even though he isn't happy about the increases?

Again, people can cry all they want to about Obama, I just hope they understand that he is the elected president in a fair election. It not like Obama is dong anything illegal. This is how the system works . . . many big business type seem to be either in denial or in major bitch mode these days.

That doesn't mean that the people that disagree with his policies should just quietly walk away with their tail between their legs. Just because Obama is the elected president doesn't mean his policies are actually the best for the country in the short and / or long term.
