The Texas Legends used one of their best defensive performances of the season to take down the Western Conference leading Tulsa 66ers 105-85 on Friday night inside the Tulsa Convention Center.

The win helped the Legends keep pace with the three other teams fighting for the eighth and final playoff spot. With four games left on the schedule, Texas remains a half game back of the Fort Wayne Mad Ants, while they are now tied with the Idaho Stampede and a half game up on the Austin Toros.

The 85 points for Tulsa was the lowest point total that the Legends have surrendered this season.

After Tulsa jumped out to a 7-0 lead, Texas came right back to even the game at seven and went into the second quarter on top 25-22.

Ron Allen sparked a huge second period for the Legends by dropping in 11 points in the quarter (his previous season high for a game was 11), and nine points in the second that were part of a 12-2 run that saw the Texas lead stretch from one to eleven. The Legends took a 46-38 lead into the locker room at the break.

Allen finished the half with 15 points on 7-of-10 shooting. Byron Mullens led Tulsa in the opening half and nearly earned a double-double with 14 points and nine boards.

The Legends kept the pressure on the 66ers in the second half and used a 20-6 run in the third quarter to take a demanding 21-point lead.

Texas would extend their lead to as many as 26 points in the fourth quarter on their way to the huge road victory, the Legends first win in Tulsa in franchise history.

Allen led six double-digit scorers for Texas with a season-high 19 points, while Sean Williams contributed his 18th double-double of the year with 17 points and 10 rebounds.

Mullens was the lone bright spot for Tulsa with a season-high 31 points and 12 boards in the loss.

With the win the Legends improved to 21-25, while the 66ers dropped to 31-16.

The Legends will head back home for their final two regular season home games of the season, starting with a Sunday afternoon contest against the RGV Vipers. Tip-off is set for 3:00 PM.

Great tickets for all Legends home games are still available by calling (214) 469-0822 or emailing the team at info@TexLegends.com.
