Leonard making progress!

Olshey needs a complete do over this summer. I love Crabbe, and think some people really under rate him. He is expensive though, so he should look to move him. Leonard and his 10 million per need to go also. Turner is a HORRIBLE fit with this team. Those three equal about 35 million.
It's even worse than that. Crabbe and Turner alone make about $35M combined. Meyers brings it up to 45M.

Since we basically finished two games ahead of Denver, and Turner had a negative +/- in two wins since Nurk went down, my answer would be yes.

I though, unlike a lot of fans, focus on the big picture. He was shitty early on, so without him then, maybe we get the 7th seed? He's a bad fit

He was shit for the first 20 games no one can deny that.
But you using +/- to determine how well he played in two wins makes it sound like you don't watch the games.

Wiggins had 29 and 36 points after Nurk went down.
The majority of his damage was done before Turner was matched up on him specifically the last game.
He went 1-8 or something like that in the 4th with Turner on him.
Turner also caused problems for Wiggins early in the season when CJ went off without Lillard.
Turner is easily Portland's most consistent perimeter defender. Portland doesn't make the playoffs without his defensive contribution in the Minn games.
He's not worth the 17m a year. But he's far from a bad fit.

Has his piss poor offensive fit caused any losses? Your bold ststement that we would not have made the playoffs without him in Minny, could be turned around. I can make baseless statements also, and say we would have made it easier without him because of lost games earlier in the year.

rofl.... stop it
It's too early and I'm too sick to laugh this hard.

Guys, say what you want about Meyers, but last night but he was SPECTACULAR as the tank commander! I think Terry on purpose went thru Meyers in the past those last 3 possessions to help assure the tank and get us the 15th or 16 pick with our pick - Meyers was friggin PATTONESQUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

conversation between N.O and T.S:

"Terry, we NEED to lose this game, it has big draft implications !"
"But Neil, I can't just tell the players to throw the game away !"
"I don't care ! Find a way !"
"Hold on, I thin I have an idea..."

"What do you mean, a post up ??"

Can someone record his nearby teammates who must be hearing his interview? There has to be plenty of guys rolling their eyes listening to him. And giggling, plenty of giggling.

I think 2 of the three need to go, and it's between Crabbe and Turner for the one who stays (my preference is both go, but I don't think it's plausible).

But Meyers must go. I don't care if he blows up somewheres else, there's a mental block with him and it's not changing here. He comes off as someone who thinks he's much better than he really is, doesn't understand that he's not, and knows what words to say to make it sound good.

Omg, he's basically a 9th grader who over values his talent but doesn't realize he sucks.

If you watch this video, you'll see him passively make excuses as to why he didn't come through.
Well he couldn't very well say "We were throwing the game, but we had try to make it look like we weren't."

Meyers took one for the team last night. I think that's probably got to be the hardest position to be in - he already knows everybody hates him, and then he goes out there and takes a dive, further disgusting everyone and justifying their disgust. That's a team player right there.

Agreed. Turner is an awful fit for this team. Sure, there are individual games where he played well and helped us get a win - but over the course of the season he was a net negative. Pat could probably have given us what Turner gave us over the course of the season. As it currently stands, Turner is a moderately better defender and maybe ball-handler (though the eye test says otherwise) - Pat is a much better shooter, decent defender, decent ball-handler, and has shown glimpses of good court-vision/passing. I'd be very interested to know what Pat would look like now, had he been given all of Turner's minutes.

Meyers seems like the kinda of guy who loves the movie Top Gun because of the volleyball scenes.

Apparently you're the type of guy that remembers that there was a volleyball scene. I remember Kelly McGillis (think that is her name) riding on the back of a motorcycle. I think, haven't seen it in years.

When I watched those three consecutive possessions where Stotts called the play to post up Meyers at the end, I honestly thought he did it so he could sit Meyers down after the game/in the exit interview and say: See Meyers. This is what you are going to work on. All. Summer. Long.

I also wondered if he did it to tank the game and secure a better draft position. I mean, why else would he play Quarterman so many minutes.

Honestly, it's about damn time Stotts decided to make Meyers go back to learning to play in the block. If he is going to end up backing up Nurk, he's got to be able to run the same kinds of plays.

Usually, about this time in a player's career, you hear them say that the game has slowed down for them. In Meyers' case, it seems that the basketball processor in his brain has slowed down. He's always been mechanical in his game...like each time he gets the ball in a shooting position he's running down a mental checklist as to what he should do. About half the time he seems to panic as he realizes time is running out for him to make a decision and he ends up doing the wrong thing. Great basketball players trust their instincts and their body's muscle memory to work for them. Meyers has a basketball body, but his processor just isn't up to the job.

Crabbe is worth the money, imho. I'd keep him. Turner... ehn I'll wait to see how he does in the playoffs. Leonard? I hope he has a nice summer.

I really wish we had a bigger sample size of Connaughton because right now I'm afraid to trade Crabbe and essentially have no bench.

YES and YES.

Yeah we have no bench. Either we draft a bench, or we trade for a bench. It's not like we'd trade Crabbe for thin air.

Yep! Back when Leonard was backing up LaMarcus, the threes seemed gimmicky but useful in a "Albino Channing Frye" sort of way. Now that our identity is set, Meyers has to learn the skills that will make him a successful backup to our starting center. At the very least, if he learns them, he can be traded for more than a sack of Funyuns and a 2027 2nd Rounder.

We're drafting a new bench in June.
I hope we try to get a couple of vets; we are SO YOUNG right now (How young are we? There's a BRAZZERS logo in the corner of pictures of our starting lineup), and drafting a new bench would make us by far the youngest team in the NBA... I guess for waiting out the Golden State storm that's a good thing, but our window will open pretty soon, and I hope we have enough experience to take advantage.

I'm supposed to pretend I don't know what this means, right?
Yes; and you can also feign shock and dismay that I'd say such a thing on a family site that properly hides its fascist leanings in a sub-forum.

I am shocked. And dismayed. Your contribution to the downfall of society is heartbreaking.

I meant that shorter, intentionally faster, guys can get close which bothers his shot. The counter move would be to use variations off of the pick and roll to get the open shot that Meyers favors, and has used for 50-100% swish3 shooting.

Meyers favors wide open shots from the 3 point line - and he was 1/4... that's 25%. I mean...

Man, the amount of hate in here for one of our own guys is almost disturbing. I wonder what great achievements mankind could have accomplished if so much time and energy hadn't been spent on finding new and creative ways to criticize a bench player. My heart weeps.
