Mang, you just beat me to this post by 1 minute. great going Hammer.

What are you doing up this early, this Is Pacific standard time. LOL....Getting ready for work?

I'm curious to see how the Cubs do this year. In all honestly, I'd enjoy seeing the Cubs go to a World Series, and felt that way for ages, if any NL Team deserves to go to the Series, the Cubs are most deserving, less their record.

Yet if they do ever go to the Series, let it be the Yanx that bomb Wrigley....!

Actually, I think you beat me by a minute, but either way...

Yeah, alarm goes off in ~15 minutes & just woke early... Bknew if I went back to sleep, I may not have heard my alarm... I typically get up 4:15/4:30.... Today was ~3:30/3:45....

I'm just glad that it wasn't the Red Sox. And btw: didn't Lester just say the other day that it wasn't going to be just about the money? And yet he went with the best offer. Hell, its ALWAYS about the money. Anyway, good for the Cubs.

Yes, and I was never sold on the idea of Lester in NY, IMO that contract is too long & too much money IMO....

...this just in; 99% of FAs are overpaid/over-extended.

...players, agents, GMs lying?...nah, that never happens........lol.

...gotta admit, I was hoping Lester would either go to the Yanx or Cubs, but truly believed he'd go back to Boston.

Over $25M per, holy shit I've said it before I'll say it again, this is WAY out of hand.

...actually, I stayed at an Obvious Inn Express last night. :ghoti:

...they are now saying that the Giants offered 7 years/$168 Mil.

...so it wasn't "all about the money".

6 years @ $155M = $25.5 per year

7 years @ $168M = $24.0 per year

I know its not a big difference but maybe it was about the money. Or maybe it was working for Theo again. Who knows?

He is getting $170 over 7 if the vesting option for the 7th year is exercised with the cubs... $25.8+M over 6 with $15M for the 7th year or ~$24.3M over 7... vs the $24.0M over 7...

...^^^...lol...I dunno, $13 Mil difference?...I'd like to try living off $13 Mil for awhile.

...plus, about $20 Mil of Lester's money was up front in the form of a signing bonus.

Yeah Ron, I'm still reminded of the NBA player Latrell Spreewell who turned down 3 years @ $21M saying he can't feed his family on a lousy $7M a year.

He never played another game in the NBA. He was a head case so I don't know if collusion was involved but I'd love to see shit like that happen more often.
