The problem is not some fairytale made up gritty pixie dust. The roster was a mess. Injuries hurt, but the moves to compensate where ridiculous and the utter lack of farm help was an embarassment. The problem is content ownership and an inept GM that let this team rot from its core. I know you dont like to hear it, but thats what it is. Until they fix the player development problem and get a GM with a clue its difficult to expect much to change.
Many of the Yankees STARTING players this past year wouldn't be bench players for many other teams. I don't think it was so much a case of them having no balls Rusty as it was more a case of just having no talent.
Rick, define starting players... Do you mean those who would have started who weren't injured or those who ended up starting because of injuries? If it is the first, I disagree... if it's the second, I agree... which echos what blue said regarding lack of farm and questionable moves
