its a weird dynamic, a lot of people try to talk in real life about forum shit and it just doesn't go over real well..sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. you don't know who is who....i remember watching a game here in LA with some peeps from hoopsworld, one of the people was sitting behind us the entire time but was too shy to say anything.
 
its also very awkward at the beginning when you call people by their board names...just frickin weird shit. then you don't know whether to call them by that or their real names.
 
The people you speak of were probably socially awkward in the first place.

lol I could see how things could get awkward if the people are like that. At least with a KP or HCP meet and greet, we are meeting a celebrity so we all will have something in common, we <3 HCP and KP :ghoti:

That's an interesting viewpoint. It would make all threads on-topic, since we're all Blazers fans affected by war, politics and unjust sex crime laws. That's not a useful standard for organization between on-topic and off-topic, though, so we generally count fans' personal lives and non-basketball opinions as not included within the topic of the Blazers and pro basketball.

perhaps it should be relabeled as, "IRL BLAZER DISCUSSION MEET UP" or "I'm a smartass and want to push buttons!" :ghoti:

Why not do it at a sports bar where we can watch the game when the conversation turns all kinds of awkward?

That will also give me time to get my ass back to America.
 
That's a good idea too. I'd be down for meeting up for the first game of the season.
 
If I'm in Portland, and the Blazers are playing at home, my ass is at the Rose Garden. If I'm in Portland and it's a roadie, then I'm there.
 
i like how this can only occur once... there is no room for multiple occurrences!

edit: also a sports bar sounds like a logical place. You stripper fans can go after the game.
