Nobody said we should have whipped the Flyers in 4 or 5 as a prediction. However as the series has played out, Yes, we should have won in 5. And I am confident we will win game 6 but not as confident as I was. lmao

It is not easy to beat a playoff team 4 times. Are the Rangers better than the Flyers? Yes. I think they have a good advantage over them and that is why we are going to win this series in 6

Well said Dis. Ranger fans by nature are just negative. People saying we are going to lose 5 & 6. Huge hole tied at 2-2. How could we possibly go 6 or 7 games against a team like the Flyers. Never happy. It truly is amazing.

Now I get it on some level, we have not been a very big winner outside of 94 for a very long time, but sometimes it goes too far. Like no matter what happens people will just look for something to complain about.

As for the series itself, I really hope we win tomorrow night and end this in 6. No one wants to be sitting here on a back to back needing to sweat out a game 7 where anything can happen. I think we would win game 7, but as always in that type of game, a hot goalie or a bad bounce and you are done. Don't need that.

my personal opinion is that in the New era of NHL playoffs, it is extremely difficult to sweep teams as it was in the 80s and 90s.... teams are too good, too many strategies on D and players are getting better and better.... third liners this day and age would be 30 goal scorers back then....

the days where the number one seed sweeping round 1, 2 , 3 are long gone...

Pierre always says the NHL has so much parody now, and that is mainly because we haven't had expansion in many years now, so all teams are pretty good and have good players.

That is why scoring #'s are way down.
That is why every series went 6 or 7 outside of two series.
Ducks go 6. Avs go 6 or 7. Pens go 6 or 7.

These teams are all close now, so these series are long and hard fought. Just the way it is in the NHL right now.

The Flyers stink. I guess we should have swept them. Forget the fact that they had only 2 less points than us this season despite a worse start than us. Forget the fact that they had 7 guys who scored 20 or more goals, showing the scoring depth they have. They stink, and it is a flat out joke, maybe even a disgrace, that we have gone at least 6 games with them.

On top of that, all the refs in this series are out to get us. They all favor the Flyers, and give them calls. Game after game the Flyers get the edge from the refs. Crazy how they hate us.

Got it all papa. That pretty much sums up this series I think.

You nailed it dis, some of these guys just want to complain. To say the Flyers are a solid team doesn't feed into their story that we aren't good, so of course the Flyers stinks says guys like papa and Pasta. This board is truly amazing sometimes...

Nothing to do with stirring anything. I just don't consider us in a deep hole tied at 2 with home ice. I also don't think the Flyers are not a good team. I think they are a solid team. 6 of 8 series are going 6 or 7 games. I don't see the shame in going 6 or 7 games with a solid team, and a huge rival, like the Flyers.

Pasta, here's the funny thing. I don't think I said anything that was negative about the way we are playing. All I did was state facts. I'm not going to repeat like someone we know except to say the series could and should have been over. We have dominated most of the play. That's not negative. That's fact. But we haven't clinched yet so on we go. On the bright side, it's just more hockey to watch before a very long summer begins at some point.

How can a team be a solid playoff team when their goaltending and defense is very suspect? You can get away with it in the regular season but not in the playoffs. That's why the Flyers finished only 2 points behind us. For god sakes, yesterday, the flyers had Hal Gill as their 6th D-man. He is so slow that I bet Vince Gill, the country singer who probably has never been on skates could beat Hal in a race around the rink.

We'll just agree to disagree. They made the playoffs. They only had two less points than us after a terrible start. Mason was very good this season, so he was not suspect. They have a lot of talent upfront.

There is no point of debating this anymore. You feel the way you do, Flyers are not a good team, and I think they are a solid team. Again not great by any stretch but solid. You have zero respect for them, or the fact that this is a big rivalry which adds another level to this series, but again that is cool and your opinion. We agree to disagree on that. No issues.

What is the point of all this? Is it to belittle the Rangers and say how come they didn't beat the Flyers in 4 or 5? Is it to give the Rangers no credit if they beat the Flyers in 6 or 7 since the Flyers are not good? Is it to kill the Rangers if they lose in 7 games?

I just don't understand the goal here. The Flyers are a playoff team. As is proven just about every season in the NHL playoffs, anything can happen. Double so when the series is with a big rival.

So I don't understand the point. The Rangers have never trailed in the series. The Rangers have a 3-2 lead in the series. The Rangers can close it out tomorrow night.

So what is the point? That is what I don't get.

Chuck, you are one of a kind. When your narrative doesn't work you try to put words in my mouth. Others may let you do it in here but I won't. I said the Flyers are not a good playoff team. And I have said absolutely nothing one way or the other about my feelings of it being a rivalry. If you can't admit that the flyer team we are playing is not built for the playoffs, you are a lost cause. Even with Nash having his head up his ass, our forwards are better, our defense is better, our goaltending is better, and our coaching is better. And since there is basically no more fighting in playoff hockey, they can't even be solid in what they did best in the regular season.

So what category have the flyers been solid in in this series? In the playoffs? Not the regular season. In the playoffs!

Why I will be very happy if we beat the Flyers, get the Pens, and why I think we beat the Pens easier, 6 most likely.

The Pens goalie and D are awful. I make the same mistake with them every game. No matter how much they are up by...NEVER call it a game until the final whistle blows...LOL.

Personally, I think you two are flat out lost. In the NHL playoffs almost every series is tight. Almost every series goes 6 or 7. When it is a rivalry it goes up another notch. My point is a team can be a good regular season team and not a good post season team. The flyers are built for the regular season where they can fight and frustrate teams and get them off their game. But in the new age of hockey playoffs the broad street bullies theory doesn't work.
