which is totally possible...their record is terrible at 14-60

would you guys be for going after jonny flynn, or ricky rubio? i would love either of those. obviously rubio isnt ready but he might be by the time millers deal is over.....

or would they take turner? i guess they could.

I almost think Kahn would take Turner ... or just trade down to the second spot and take Turner there. Regardless, if Minny wins the lottery they're still going to be overloaded with pick and roll point guards playing in the triangle, which is sort of like putting frosting on meatloaf -- it's still edible, but ewwww.

yeah I mean that'd be three lottery picked pgs in a row...rubio would be the cheapest buuuut one of our better trade assets is also a pg lol

I'd go for Flynn. Flynn-Roy-Batum-Aldridge-Oden would be awesome (health pending of course).

Flynn is nice and I think he's probably going to be a pretty good point guard in this league, but, hell, I'd take any of Minny's current point guards; Sessions still can't shoot for shit from outside, but he's still a decent pass first guy and he's being absolutely miscast in the version of the triangle that Rambis is running up there.

Bah, Flynn doesn't interest me at all. He's been mediocre throughout the year, and hasn't really shown the ability to take his game to the next level like his peers (Jennings, Curry, Evans, etc) have.

I'd pass on him, especially if they make my boy Rubio available in a possible trade.

GET RICKY! If not, give em Oden for John Wall.

I think they would much rather deal Flynn than Rubio.

Ricky is pushing 6'6" and would be a perfect fit next to a guard like Wall.

Flynn is a nice prospect. He'd easily be the second best PG in this draft if he stayed one more year.

Darren Collison has had a superior year to Flynn. I would argue that Beaubois, Holiday, Lawson, and Maynor have showed as much potential, if not more than Flynn.

Collison would be my #1 target if we were looking for a PG of the future.

I like Bayless in a Jason Terry type of role.

I see 6'4" basically everywhere I look, and in one place i saw 6'2.5"

6'4" is probably exaggerated, and he would get abused by bigger guards.

Sacramento measured him at a little over 6'5" in shoes last summer.

They will take Wall and keep Rubio and Flynn.

Then they will run an offense that doesn't take advantage of any of their teams strengths.

We might be able to get Kevin Love from them, since they prefer Darko to Love.

I didn't think anyone could make McHale look like a good gm. Kahn has proved me very, very wrong. They are the new Knicks.

After what I have seen Miller do for this team this year, outside of a miracle(Williams, Paul) for cheap, I don't want a young PG. Flynn Roy Batum Aldridge Oden? Yeah look sgreat. Except the PG position. I've always been enamored with youth and potential, but am not going to deny the benefits a veteran PG brings to the team. I am fine with Bayless for now. And maybe allowing a young guy to take over in 3 or 4 years, when Oden, Aldridge, Roy and Batum are all "vets". Until then, I don't feel a great need for a PG of the future to be on the roster. GMs gotta make his money somehwere.

I think they'd take Cousins and play him at center. A PF/C rotation of Cousins/Jefferson/Love would be pretty good.

Cousins is often described as a ticking time bomb ... not exactly the kind of mental makeup you want in your overall number 1 pick.

I doubt anybody is saying we need to find a young PG to push Miller to the bench next year, or maybe even the year after. But we do need somebody on hand to eventually replace him, and it's extremely difficult to get an upper echelon PG once they are in their prime. So your best hope is to get a "project" pg to bring off the bench and hope he turns into something special a few years down the road.

Which is what we're doing right now with Bayless (and also what we did with Sergio, Telfair and Jack). But I'd like to add one more "project PG" to the roster. Somebody who can learn the ropes from Miller and McMillan over a couple of years and then take over without missing a beat.

Why do you need somebody on hand? Why not replace them again with someone alon gthe lines of Miller?

Flynn's having to learn the triangle too. That's worth factoring in.

I agree with you. But remember, they are all on better teams than Flynn.

If we could get Rubio, I would be all over that. I'm not sure what we could offer though. They probably aren't interested in Bayless, so we could offer Rudy and..... who?

True enough, but at least Flynn can shoot it a little bit, which is absolutely a prerequisite of a point guard in that system (Steve Kerr, Derrick Fisher, et al.) Sessions' closest analog is probably none other than our very own Andre Miller; a drive and dish guard who is best finishing at the rim or in the mid-range, not catching passes from the pivot and shooting at the wing.

i still laugh when people here really thought bayless was our future pg. thats almost worse then the ones who thought HA was out future center.

That would never work in this system! ;)

Yes!! Pritchard needs to learn to depend upon trades more than the draft!!

When have you ever went out on a limb and hoped success for a player of your supposed favorite team? Never, all you ever do it talk shit and hope that your right. Your wrong more often then not.
