Even if that cost is tyranny?

I guess I should have phrased it better. War should be avoided until it becomes a righteous war. I'd say WWII was the only righteous war of the 20th century. Maybe the Korean "war," intervening in Yugoslavia, and Afghanistan now. We should be trying to help bring some kind of peace to western Africa imo.

Jefferson was definitely not a conservative. He was the one who wanted separation of church and state. The only separation of church from the state of the conservatives I know is the church of not christian.

I am also a vet and can see where he is coming from. I would rather someone put their energy into knowing why they are thanking me rather than getting the robotic post 9/11 "thanks" or singing the anthem/"God Bless America".
