Li Na, Flavia Pennetta upset

Third-seeded Li Na of China and fifth-seeded Flavia Pennetta of Italy were eliminated in the first round of the Kremlin Cup on Tuesday.

The 11th-ranked Li lost 6-4, 6-2 to 2006 champion Anna Chakvetadze, while Pennetta was eliminated by another Russian, Elena Vesnina, 6-4, 2-6, 6-2.
